High Five for Friday #78 | Mental Health Day

H54F - A weekly link up, hosted by Cup of Tea, Bright on a Budget, Coffee with Caitlin & Della Devoted

Welcome to High Five for Friday – hosted by me, Tif, and Della! If you want to know more, read about it here!

This week’s featured blogger is April from The A Team! She and her husband (and kitty!) live in British Columbia, CA. Her blog is super sweet – she chronicles her family’s fun adventures and highlights. She also is one strong woman, offering up her blog as a platform for encouraging other families struggling with infertility. April, you are amazing! Be sure to swing over and say hello!!

I feel like a real dud today…. This whole week has felt like nothing but one big giant loud scream. Basically at every moment from Tuesday on there was someone crying or upset there was a boogie. I’m even guilty of shedding a tear or two yesterday. Elizabeth hated that idea and kept telling me to “take a deep breath and count to four, mommy”. Sage advice from the toddler (who was most certainly the cause of my own tears).

We DID run absolutely at full steam this past weekend though. Saturday was a full day at church and an afternoon birthday party. Sunday was another afternoon birthday party! And then Monday was spent at a Fourth of July picnic, complete with slip-n-slide and DIY fireworks (which were amazing, actually!). Tons of laughs and fun with friends!

Elizabeth loved waving the tiny American flags and having a parade. See those blurry objects? Yep. Flags.

I think it completely tuckered us all out though, so for the rest of the week there was lots of TV watched and caffeine consumed.

So will you forgive me?? I need a mental health day…. if we could just make it through the day without everyone filling the quiet moments with noise, we’ll be ok 🙂

What was your highlight from the week? Can’t wait to hear about it!

We had a slip and slide at our family BBQ for the 4th of July as well! Sorry this week was a wash, but you got through it! Congrats! Hopefully, you have a better weekend!

  2. Whitney says:

This week wasn’t a favorite of mine, either. I’m basically in survival mode all summer anyway, dashing from one air conditioned area to the next. 🙂 Hope your weekend is a good one with lots of QUIET.

  3. Nicole says:

Sorry you’ve had a hard week! That is a cute picture of Elizabeth though, it looks like she enjoyed had a good time this week 😉 Hopefully you will have a nice, quiet, relaxing weekend!

  4. Jess says:

Yikes, that sounds rough. I have no patience for screaming kids, so I can’t imagine having to deal with all that commotion in person! Good for you for taking a break–and making it to the weekend! Hopefully, it’s a bit quieter than the week was! xo

  5. Jillian says:

This was just a crazy week and I don’t even have kiddos! I hope you get to rest this weekend. 🙂 I saw on A Liz Adventures’ blog that she took a giant cardboard box and let her little ones sit inside and color the box. I made a mental note of that for future use… maybe Elizabeth would love that too!

  6. Amanda Bullard says:

Hello sweet heart! I hope you can get a much needed few hours to yourself today after church or tomorrow! I remember when I had a tiny boy and a rambunctious full of life little girl – sweet times but oh so draining. xoxox
