Welcome to High Five for Friday – hosted by me, BeckyTif, and Della! Come, read up on what we’ve been up to this week and get to know some amazing bloggers.

Remember, you can link up any 3 posts you want – regardless of content! Link up your favorite posts from the week that you want more people to read. Share away! And, of course, if you have a weekly recap post, link that up too! But we want to give you a chance to share your other content from the week.

Here were my favorites from last week!

Peaches + Pearls // Friday Favorites
I love a good week recap, and Cassidy had a whopper with tons of changes and endings.

Meet the Shaneyfelts // Friday Faves
So Sarah had a point about wearing shorts this summer. It was so right on for me!
I hate shorts, but when you finally find a pair that looks good and is comfortable, rock them!

Penny’s Passion // Five on Friday
There are several fun favs featured in Penny’s post, BUT the packing cubes!
I need to invest in a set, or maybe a set for each member of my family.
I also was thinking that it would be the perfect gift for my sister,
who is currently living it up in Italy with her husband (not jealous, not jealous)

Can’t wait to read some more fun things this week!

Here’s what has been going on around here!

I mentioned last week that Mom Camp has begun. And this week was a highly anticipated week – Safari Week! Last year’s Jungle Week was a big hit with my kids, so we chose a theme that was similar.

Although, we started off the week exploring a brand new playground in another town. It was a fun adventure! There was sand (I hate sand), misters, and plenty of playgrounds. We’ll definitely go back!

We also spent more time outside at home. We’ve enjoyed bubbles, water, and tag! That water table turned into a rock washing station, and it was highly entertaining!

And then Wednesday we had our Safari day! I first pulled out all the animal toys that we had.

We also did face paint! I googled “how to paint animal faces” and tried to slap some on wiggly kids.

And if you EVER need a fun lunch or dinner for kids, put a bunch of random fruits, veggies, cheese cubes, and sandwiches, cut up into small pieces, and give them a skewer. The kids “speared” their own lunch and they ate EVERYTHING! I had to refill the veggies and sandwiches twice. It was amazing!

Something else amazing happened this week. Maybe it was all the fun times this week. But we desperately needed to tidy the house! I gave both kids some jobs to tackle, and they did it. Happily. For over 30 minutes! They cleaned the bathroom, emptied the trash, dusted, picked up toys, and vacuumed! Win!

It was a FUN week!!

And now, it’s time to link up your posts! Can’t wait to cruise around and see what you all have been blogging about!

Katie this is precious! I love that you even did face painting. So fun. Sometimes all you need is a theme to make a difference in a week.

YES!!!! I’m hopeless at figuring out fun things on a regular basis. But give me a theme and a friend who’s willing to come with me on this fun summer, and BAM! We’ve been having such fun! Mom Summer Camp is continuing into their teenage years 🙂

You’re welcome! And the face paint was definitely fun. I bought some face painting sticks. They were like softer crayons. So it would definitely be easy for my girl to paint her own face or hand!

Looks like Safari Week was a wildly successful hit! 😉 So glad you all are enjoying summer fun and making memories that’ll last far beyond the season! Wishing you and your cute family a wonderful weekend ahead! xo – Brenda // ChattingOverChocolate.com

These weeks have been such fun. In years past Summer was something I dreaded. But these fun themed weeks with adventures has just made the summer FULL of fun memories!!

Skewers–what a good idea! They make everything seem more fun. And your “I hate sand” aside cracked me up. I hate sand too! How does it always get everywhere HOW?!

    • Katie @ Cup of Tea says:

It’s become an instant hit! Every meal needs skewers now 🙂 And yes. Sand is evil. It’s the worst!
