Welcome to High Five for Friday – hosted by me, Becky, Tif, and Della! Come, read up on what we’ve been up to this week and get to know some amazing bloggers.
Remember, you can link up any 3 posts you want – regardless of content! Link up your favorite posts from the week that you want more people to read. Share away! And, of course, if you have a weekly recap post, link that up too! But we want to give you a chance to share your other content from the week.
Can’t wait to read some more fun things this week!
Fourth of July is my #3 favorite holiday!! And this year, Elizabeth was receptive to learning a bit about the Revolutionary War and the Declaration of Independence.
BUT… like a lot of days, I had so much fun this week that I forgot to snap pictures. I actually plan on getting the kids dressed up again in their 4th of July outfits and hauling them outside today to get some photos. HAHA!
Our holiday consisted of fun crafts, a party with friends, and TRYING to catch the downtown Durham fireworks. We thought we timed it all perfectly. We found a grassy hillside where everyone gathers to watch it. But after 30 minutes the fireworks still hadn’t begun. Elizabeth declared she was too tired to wait, so we went home. Apparently, the fireworks didn’t start until close to 10:30pm! But the win from all of that was that William slept in until 9am the next day. He has NEVER slept in his entire life. Yay!
We have had one fun new thing this week – I picked up an inflatable pool! Elizabeth was thrilled to jump right in and play. I basically had to toss William in, unwillingly. But we did have fun.
And my CSA box that was started last week has been fun! I love taking all the veggies and trying to throw them in dishes. My husband wasn’t super excited that I threw squash into his beloved Sunday huevos rancheros, but I thought it was delicious!
Next week brings us to another VBS! This one is in the morning, so we’re picking back up our summer themes the following week. Can’t wait for that one – Art Week!
And now, it’s time to link up your posts! Can’t wait to cruise around and see what you all have been blogging about!

That looks delicious! I always seem to buy veggies and never use enough of them before they expire. That’s a great idea! Also, I need that pool for my boys! Hope you had a great week:)
Inflatable pools are tricky. I find they get so yucky by the end of the summer OR they get a hole. This one was under $20 so I won’t feel bad tossing it if I have to!
Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful weekend.
“I basically had to toss William in, unwillingly” cracked me up. Elizabeth needs to show him the ropes, haha! Hope you’re having a great weekend!
He is definitely more timid in these situations compared to Elizabeth! She dives right in, without much hesitation!
