Cup of Tea Chat | A Touch of the Random #3

I love a good chat! So join me!

As you know, I’ve been sick for the last few weeks… which leads to a lot of quiet time, staring at the ceiling.

That’s lead to quite a few random thoughts in my head… and it only seems fair that you get a peak in to my brain.

While on my death bed (aka sofa) this week, I had a lot of time to be productive… in my brain. I had zero energy to do anything, but I thought through about 30 lists, things I’d do, closets to organize. You name it, I mentally organized it. If only I was as productive in reality as I am in my sick brain.

TV was invented so that parents who are sick can keep their kiddos entertained.

I was cruising Costco.com one day and discovered an entire section of funeral supplies!  You can order an urn today, OR get expedited shipping on a casket. Even Amazon doesn’t have caskets available on Prime… except pet caskets. I can’t ever get rid of our Costco membership… their casket prices can’t be beat.

This had me thinking about weird things for sale on Amazon. Thank goodness there is a BuzzFeed article about that! It really has me interested in the coffee table book “Dancing With Cats“, which is frequently purchased with “Crafting with Cat Hair“.

I finally made it out of the house yesterday for my regular Bible Study (hi friends!). It’s such a blessing to get out friends, let our kiddos play together, and do a little studying together. I wasn’t particularly sharp yesterday, BUT just getting out of the house, yoga pants and all, was such a soul lift. Isn’t it hard making friends the older we get?

This week is a wild week for Med Students! It’s Match Week! Yesterday, med students got an email saying they either did match, or didn’t match, to a residency training spot post-graduation. It’s a terrifying time! And then Friday is figuring out where exactly you matched. It’s the craziest week ever. This was my husband and I WAY back in 2010. 6 years ago… and now he’s just a few months away from being done with training. Forever. I just can’t believe it.

Anyone else eye shadow challenged? I can NEVER apply eye shadow correctly…

Makeup issues....

How many magazines do you subscribe to? Which ones? I’m slowly letting my subscriptions go because I can’t possibly keep up. But I recently re-subscribed to Real Simple. I dropped that sub several years ago but picked up a random issue at the grocery store recently and was reminded that it’s a good magazine! My all-time fav magazine was Lucky… but it’s been killed off!

My husband recently bought a remote controlled plane to fly around. It’s probably his 5th or 6th… and I hate them all! It actually makes my heart rate increase and I get anxious. I hid in the bathroom a few days ago because he was flying it around nearby. But it’s his new hobby! Thankfully flying it outside brings him just as much joy as flying it indoors. Does your spouse have a hobby?

That’s what has been rattling around in my brain for the last few weeks!

So thoughts? Anything random you would like to share? Don’t leave me hanging!

It is hard for adults to make friends! My favorite magazine is Southern Living and Redbook. I don’t subscribe because I never get to read them anymore. My hubby is a golfer. However, he doesn’t get to quite as much anymore. Feel better!

Funeral supplies at Costco is a little weird, but at least you can pick up a fruit tray & sandwich tray while you’re there & really be set for the funeral! I remember when my mom picked out my grandmother’s casket, the casket store was right next to Boxes To Go. I thought that was ironic…

Hope you are feeling better! I love my cooking/food magazines – Cooking Light and Everyday with Rachael Ray. Too funny/weird?!! that Costco sells funeral supplies!

Costco has everything!! Haha! And Cooking Light was a regular sub for me. I need to start that back up again!

I really love these random chats. It’s like a conversation with a friend. And i agree, it’s hard to make friends when your an adult. I think blogging is a good chance to connect with other people and perhaps even make friends. It’s not the same like friends in real life, but it’s a great opportunity to meet people that you would never have met otherwise.
My husbands hobby is mountainbiking, but this is nothing i like, all the ups and downs in the forrests, no thank you.

Haha ups and downs of mountain biking wouldn’t be my thing either. And I agree! Blogging is a great way to have virtual friends! I think it’s like having pen pals like I had when I was younger.

The only magazine I get is Bon Appetit which was a gift. I used to also receive RS but I found it so hard to keep up with my reading! I do like it a lot though.

And I can’t believe Costco sells funeral supplies! Craziness.

Okay, so a few years ago, my stepdad asked me to look up caskets on Costco’s website. I told him he was crazy, but he was right (as you now know)! They totally have caskets! So weird…
