Menu Monday #32 – Christmas Menu

ListCloseUp

I was VERY overwhelmed sitting down to make this week’s menu. I’m basically planning for meals for the next 1.5 weeks. My family is coming in to town Saturday through Wednesday. I want to have the menu planned ahead of time to get as much grocery buying done as possible.

You’d be bored seeing my whole 1.5 weeks of menu, so I thought I would share our Christmas Eve/Christmas Day plans.

Christmas Eve Dinner:
Vegetarian Tamales
Mexican Rice
Salad
Green Beans

Christmas Morning Brunch:
Christmas Casserole
Fruit Salad
Cinnamon Roll Quick Bread

Christmas Day Dinner:
Vegetarian Meatballs
Mashed Potatoes
Stuffing
Roasted Brussel Sprouts
Corn Casserole

What are you having for your Christmas Dinner? Let me know! My menu is still flexible 😉

I love the idea of the Christmas morning casserole! On Christmas Eve, we will have the traditional ham dinner with my in-laws … and on Christmas Day, my mom will prepare Chicken Bundles – a chicken/mushroom/herbed cream cheese mixture inside puffed pastry. Yum!

A casserole on Christmas morning, made the night before, is such a great thing! Although, when I was at Trader Joe’s this week, they had a cranberry walnut danish ring that you bake. I bought two… so breakfast casserole may go out the window 🙂 The chicken bundles sound amazing! I may steal that!! Merry Christmas!

How fun that you get to host Christmas for your family! I love that you’re serving Mexican on Christmas Eve. My mom suggested that for our family but my sister would have none of that. Ha! She’s quite the traditionalist. My mom always makes Senate Bean Soup with lots of appetizer type things to go with it. That’s what we’re having. 🙂

Oh yum! Your dinner sounds delish! I’m quite the traditionalist, too, especially if mom is cooking 🙂 But I think Mexican on Christmas Eve will be our little family tradition. But it’s classic Christmas Dinner all the way 🙂 Merry Christmas!

Thanks! And planning is all good in theory 🙂 I sometimes plan, and then deviate, if there’s something particularly tasty at the grocery store that week! HAHA! Glad you found me!
