High Five for Friday #52 | Family Fun & Milestones

H54F - A weekly link up, hosted by Cup of Tea, Bright on a Budget, Coffee with Caitlin & Della Devoted

Welcome to High Five for Friday – hosted by me, TifDella, and Caitlin! If you want to know more, read about it here!

Don’t Forget! Our next H54F Hangout will be January 14 at 9:30PM EST! Mark your calendars now. Can’t wait to hang with you all! Come back here to the blog Thursday night at 9:30PM for ways to watch LIVE!

This week’s featured blogger is Crystal from And Blue Sky! She’s a Florida girl who loves fashion and thrifting! Oh, and cats 🙂 Crystal definitely had me smiling last week when she mentioned she’s now obsessed with bullet journaling (list nerds unite!). Swing on over and say hello!

It’s been a great, productive week around here (finally!). Here’s what’s been going on!

1. We had tons of family fun around here, which is weird for us during a regular week. Monday we took a VERY frosty woods walk. Tons of fun though!

Elizabeth and I also had some fun Mommy/Daughter time that was outside of our usual fun. We took some time to paint one evening.

And took selfies HAHA!

2. My husband celebrated TWO medicine milestones this week. The first was he completed his last hospital rotation for his Nephrology Fellowship! After 4 years of med school, 3 years of residency and 3 years of fellowship, the last of his medical training is coming to a close. He also found out he passed his Nephrology licensing exam. So look out, kidneys! My doctor husband is allowed to treat you. HAHA! We celebrated by heading out to our favorite burger joint. A quick shout out to Bull City Burger – they have a fun little play area which, if it’s not busy, is the perfect spot for a small child to play while mom and dad eat.

3. For Christmas I received a gift certificate to Sephora AND Ulta! A girl’s dream! So I spent some time thinking about what to get and made my purchases. I’ve got a whole treasure trove of goodies, new and old favorites, to go through. I’m thinking it all deserves a haul video? Maybe? Yes? (Anyone else get excited by the samples??)

4. This week I was also wildly productive. Anyone else start off the new year with a bang? I was really excited to get this week going, get back into our usual routine. Even though Christmas still lingers in our home (and I’m ok with that for now) it felt good to get back into the groove.

5. I was also reasonably productive here on the blog, too! Did you catch this week’s posts? I started off with our weekly menu AND shared some new ideas for food-related Monday posts to come. I also shared some big news with you all! And yesterday was a new video! It’s chocked full of beauty favorites from 2015. Go catch up!

I got motivated to try new recipes but I need to find the motivation to get out of the kitchen and organize/put away Christmas. That hike looks so fun, even if it was frosty! Yes to haul videos and I’m almost tempted to use my GCs to both of those stores and order things online so I can get samples, too!! Have a great weekend!!

Hey! If your in a groove in the kitchen, don’t stop!! I’ve avoided taking down the Christmas decorations until now because I was in an organizing groove instead. I’m a firm believer in if you’re in a good groove don’t stop!! Haha! Have a great weekend yourself!!

I’m so proud of myself that I knew what nephrology was before you said it, haha! Jealous of your gift cards! I’ve been to Sephora like 5 times in the past week, trying out different things, even though I have no gift card whoops! And I got a few things from Ulta too. Makeup shopping is just too fun. 🙂 Have a great weekend!

I also get super excited about the samples. I almost like it more than the stuff I bought haha. I vote ‘yes’ to a haul video. Love to hear about new products 🙂 Also congrats on the baby! That is so exciting! I’m sure you guys are anxiously awaiting his arrival.

  4. Erin says:

Congratulations to your husband. What an accomplishment, I’m sure he’s happy to hit that milestone. Very exciting news on the baby boy announcement!

What a great week! Congratulations to your Hubby! I am glad you had a great week. My New Year has been pretty productive, as well!

Congrats to your hubby! That’s so exciting! I vote for a beauty haul from those gift card goodies…I want to see what you decided on! Aren’t selfies with kids just the cutest things? Elizabeth is so cute in her painting smock too. Have a great weekend!

Congrats to your hubby on those medical school milestones 🙂 That’s big time. I love Elizabeth’s plaid coat and the picture of her painting. Such a cute little artist. Santa brought Olive an art easel, but we’ve dropped the ball and haven’t assembled it yet. Must get done this week 🙂
