Welcome to High Five for Friday – hosted by me, BeckyTif, and Della! Come, read up on what we’ve been up to this week and get to know some amazing bloggers.

Remember, you can link up any 3 posts you want – regardless of content! Link up your favorite posts from the week that you want more people to read. Share away! And, of course, if you have a weekly recap post, link that up too! But we want to give you a chance to share your other content from the week.

Here were my favorites from last week!

Chatting Over Chocolate // You Have Worth
Given all the sad news about people choosing to end their own life, I loved Brenda’s encouraging reminder that
we all have worth in the eyes of our Creator! And that can give tremendous hope to a hurting world.

Connected in the Kitchen // Friday Favorites
It sounds like Kenzie had a fun week, but you MUST check out this post for her recipe for her
loaded sweet potato sliders! It totally inspired me to make those, but with a spicy black bean patty. It would be delicious!

Toots & Dill // Friday Favorites
So many fun things for her last week! Bridal shower, dance recital and a zoo visit! Thanks for linking up with us!

Can’t wait to read some more fun things this week!

Our week was a bit more low key than past weeks. Maybe we’re doing summer too hard! HA! But we’ve all been a bit tired. My husband has also had a super busy work week. It’s been crazy.

We kicked off the weekend with another speared lunch! We had our summer mom camp compadres over for lunch for more spearing, and everyone loved it!

And then on Sunday, my husband and Elizabeth hung out at the lake!

Mom Summer Camp fun continues this week! The original plan was focusing on Around the World, with a different country each day. I started off that ambitious, but we fizzled as the week went on. I lost steam. But Monday was learning about the continents in general, and then Tuesday we learned about Ancient Egypt!

I chose Ancient Egypt purely because I had these PlayMobil pyramid sets from my Mother-in-Law’s teaching days, and I wanted to use them. Both kids went crazy! It’s still set up in the play room because we’ve had so much fun with it.

Our next day was to be a day at our buddy’s house, learning about South Korea! But, alas, they were all sick. So we learned from a distance. One of the fun activities was to be learning a Korean fan dance, and Elizabeth loved it! She even went into her room at quiet time, declaring she was going to practice her “North Carolina” fan dance. She wouldn’t let me film it, but it was adorable. Next week is our Pirate Week, to coincide with the VBS’s theme of “Shipwrecked”. We’re SO excited about that!

If you follow me on insta, you may have seen my personal crises unfolding about my beloved veggie burger getting changed. I adore the Morningstar Farms Griller Original, but this week I cracked open a new package to discover it tasted different, and not in a good way! It was awful. I have sent messages (4 to be exact) to the company, telling them my disappointment! I even have a thread on my personal FB page about how it’s changed. It’s consumed my week 🙂 But yesterday I spent time hopping around to a few stores to stock up on the original flavor before the new is a permanent replacement.

Finally, Netflix recommendation! We’re almost through watching The Staircase on Netflix, and it’s fantastic! (No spoilers if you’ve seen it already!!!)

If you loved Making of a Murderer or other true crimes docs, then you’ll love this. It’s set in my city, Durham, NC, and it’s an unfolding 10+ year case. Add it to your queue!

And now, it’s time to link up your posts! Can’t wait to cruise around and see what you all have been blogging about!

Katie – thank you so much for linking to my recipe! It is always such an honour! The sweet potato sliders would be fabulous with a spicy black bean party! What a great idea! I love reading about all of the activities you are doing with your kids! You are one creative mama! Have a great weekend!

Happy Friday, friend! Thank you so much for featuring my post! I pray the resources shared there will bring hope to the hopeless. I love your speared lunch idea! Your spread looked delicious! Hooray for tons of summer fun for your family! I just spotted The Staircase on Netflix yesterday and added it to my queue. After seeing you mention it, I’m even more curious to check it out! Wishing you and your beautiful family a terrific Father’s Day weekend!

The speared lunch idea is so fun! Also, where are your place mats from? I really like them! I really like the around the world theme for the kids! I’m always surprised at how many kids don’t know geography. World Market has lots of fun treats if you need any snack ideas for your studies. Also, I need to watch The Staircase! I’ve heard the story several times but haven’t watched the documentary yet. Hope you have a great weekend!

Hmmm those placemats came from Khols several years ago, I think… but search for woven placemats and they show up in various stores! The Staircase is SO good! Everyone needs to watch it so I can discuss it in an open environment. 🙂

Those speared lunches look delicious!! Serious question… do your kids ever try to spear each other?? hahaha Glad you got to stock up on your favorite originals. I hate when companies go and “new and improve” something that was already delicious. #howrude

I used to LOVE Playmobil as a kid, so I too am very excited about that pyramid, haha! And my friend was just telling me about The Staircase today, funnily enough!
