High Five for Friday #77 | A Full and Fast Week

H54F - A weekly link up, hosted by Cup of Tea, Bright on a Budget, Coffee with Caitlin & Della Devoted

Welcome to High Five for Friday – hosted by me, Tif, and Della! If you want to know more, read about it here!

This week’s featured blogger is Kristina from The Kontemporary! She is a German lifestyle blogger who lives in Texas! She has a great fashion eye and I’m loving her style blog posts. I’m especially loving this transparent blouse with the cutest collar ever that she featured. Go swing over and say Hallo!

This post is going to be a quick one! Prioritizing sleep right now 🙂

1.We had a super busy weekend! Church and then potluck with friends and kiddos. And then a baby shower on Sunday. I needed some peace and quiet by the time Sunday night rolled around. HA! So when my husband suggested we watch Jurassic Park Sunday night, I just couldn’t do it. Screaming and playing children sounds a lot like screaming dinosaurs.

2. Anyone else watch the season finale of Game of Thrones?? The next season is going to be SO good!! Can’t wait!

3. Here’s a little real life for you. You know potty training for us was a roller coaster, but certainly going well. In case you’re potty training your kiddo and you’re discouraged with set backs, we are in the middle of set backs. It was expected. I knew it was coming. But phew! Goodness… We had one accident on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. All literally standing near the bathroom. Gah! Set backs come with all sorts of things… just roll with it and know it’s not forever.

4. I noticed I am SO close to 1000 followers on Instagram. It just looks so weird! Here I am, a normal, average person, who posts a ridiculous amount of kid photos…. I know 1000 isn’t that many, but it’s just so surprising to me that there are 1000 people willing to look at my poor photos.

5. And today marks the end of an era and the start of a new one. 6 years ago, my husband started his internal medicine residency. And yesterday was his last day of fellowship. Today is his first day of being on faculty, all finished with training. So wild! I’m so proud of him! He plans on celebrating by spinning in his new office’s chair.

What was your highlight from the week? Can’t wait to hear about it!

I loved the Game of Thrones season finale! I’m so glad you mentioned it because I haven’t seen much about it in the blogger community this week. I didn’t make it a favorite because I raved about it so hard on my What’s up Wednesday post lol. #TeamStark — I am so ready for next year’s episodes 🙂 That was the best one yet! Happy 4th of July Weekend! Congratulations to your husband on his accomplishment.

I was so pleased that a lot of my fave characters were FINALLY having good things happen. #teamstark indeed!

My boyfriend and I are big GoT fans. We have both read the books and as of Wednesday watched all the episodes. I am also really excited for next season. I always hate it when seasons come to an end and you have to wait forever for the new season.

    • Katie @ Cup of Tea says:

I know. It felt especially gutting that it was over because we binge watched last season and this season back to back… Sigh… Do we really have to wait another year??

  3. Jess says:

Congrats to your husband!! What a huge accomplishment! I need to figure out what season of Grey’s corresponds to finishing residency… maybe season 8? haha! And yes the GoT finale! So crazy! I haven’t entirely loved this season’s fast pacing, so I felt almost like TOO much happened in the finale, if that makes sense. (Like throwing Bran in there for like five minutes pretty much only to give closure to the Tower of Joy scene. That felt more like fan service than good storytelling, and apparently I hold GoT to very high standards ha!) I still liked the finale, especially the ending where it clearly set up for next season, but boy were there a lot of major things going on!

    • Katie @ Cup of Tea says:

Hahaha! I should have thought that in context with Grey’s! And it was weird to have Bran in there for just a few minutes. So strange! And yes!! So many large plot shifts this season! Hard to keep up! Thank goodness for the “previously on…” Recaps each episode. Haha!

I’m so excited for your family to be done with school and your hubby’s new job!! All that hard work paid off 🙂 Tell him to spin in that office chair and enjoy the moment. Hope you have a great, festive weekend.

    • Katie @ Cup of Tea says:

He should have filmed his spinning. We may need to recreate this later… Thank you!! Same to you!

  5. Danielle says:

Yay for your husband! I can imagine how hard that must have been!

and 1000 follower on IG is awesome! I’m hoping to get there someday! 🙂

    Have a great weekend!

It’s been a journey. I wouldn’t recommend people do this whole medicine thing… But I guess someone has to! Ha! Hope you have a great weekend too!

The neighbor kid I used to babysit growing up (who was also my little sisters best friend) used to always screech like a dinasaur! Not because he was mad or anything, he just thought it was funny. He was also like 7 or 8. He was an odd kid. But very entertaining. Haha! So I can definitely understand not wanting to watch Jurassic Park!

That’s crazy you’re almost to 1,000 followers! I thought it was a huge accomplishment when I passed 100 LOL!

Congratulations to your husband! What a huge accomplishment!

Hope you have a great weekend!

I am not looking forward to potty training, but will probably try soon. I think it is time to try. Setbacks don’t sound like fun, but they are part of the process. Glad that you are so honest about it all. Have a great weekend and a happy 4th of July!
