Houston, We Have a Problem…

She’s so cute, isn’t she?

Well, this little cutie crawled off with my wireless camera shutter clicker thingy. I use it to take pictures of myself in my #ootd outfits for the 30 Outfits in 30 Days Challenge.

And I’m missing ONE photo from this last week. I didn’t get a chance to snap the picture that day, but I thought “Don’t worry, Katie. You’ll have time!”

Until your little one hides your remote.

Grr….

I’m hoping to find it today so I can include the outfit in this week’s recap. If I can’t, you may have to use your imaginations.

Menu Monday #27

How’s it going? Hope you had a lovely weekend! We had a pretty busy one, but the weather was beautiful!!

This week, I’m going to be lazy. I was cruising Pinterest last week, and I stumbled upon Oh My Veggies, a vegetarian food blog, and her weekly menus. Y’all, I think from this point forward I can just skip my menu planning. 🙂 She has the links to all the recipes (whether it’s hers or another blogger’s) and THEN a printable menu/shopping list! Genius.

So this week, just for kicks, I’m going to try one of her recent vegetarian menus. Since there are only 5 dinner items on her menu, I’ll cook one more meal. I had a friend on Facebook post that she felt like Thanksgiving food, so she just made it! Stuffing and all. I’ll admit, that sounds delicious!!! Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday meal, but it’s a shame we only eat it once a year. So I thought I’d do a mini version this week.

I’m also feeling like it’s Fall baking time. I can’t believe I’ve gone this long without something! I’m feeling like an apple dessert of some sort. These Apple Crisp bars look amazing, but so do these Apple Dumplings from Lemon Jelly Cake! Decisions, decisions.

Hey Hey! It’s Friday!

TGIF! Another fast week. Man… before you know it, it will be Christmas!

1. We had a pretty busy, but fun weekend! Saturday we had a house full of people for a church potluck. Tons of fun! And then Sunday afternoon my Bible study group had a little Autumn party. Elizabeth kept giggling and crawling straight for the stairs and quickly crawling up them. Sneaky sneaky!

2. I was just casually scrolling through my various social media spots, and noticed I hit 300 followers on Instagram and 100 subscribers on YouTube!! Both of these accounts are just for the blog, not my personal account, so I’m pretty chuffed! So thank you!

3. I couldn’t help it – I went to Target and bought a few clothes items. This, of course, means I can’t wear them until after the 30 Outfits in 30 Days Challenge ends, but it’s just hard to resist the pull of the Target clothes department. But I ended up grabbing a knit navy dress. Pretty basic, but versatile! I didn’t bother trying it on, because trying on clothes with a child is a nightmare. So I get home, try on the dress, and am shocked at how big it was! I couldn’t believe that my normal Medium size was so spacious! I check the label – an XL. Ooops!! So back to Target I go 🙂

4. In Elizabeth news, she got two new toys! One was a hiking backpack. We aren’t serious backpackers, but the Baby Bjorn just wasn’t cutting it anymore for our local 3 miler hikes. So we opted for this one. It’s lightweight, easy to buckle her in, and she loves sitting in it! I wouldn’t recommend it if you are doing all day backpacking, but for general hiking, it gets the job done.

She also got a birthday gift from some sweet friends. It’s one of those walker toys, and it took all of 5 seconds for her to figure it out and push it around the house 🙂

5. I didn’t feel like having the pumpkin ravioli on Wednesday night…. so we had breakfast for dinner instead! I made these chocolate chip pumpkin pancakes! They were so decadent, but delish!

Holy cow! How do these weeks go by so fast?? Another 6 outfits down! If you’re not sure what’s up, you can read more here. But, long story short: I chose 30 items from my closet, and challenged myself to make 30 unique outfits for the next 30 days!

You can clearly see by the below outfits that I got a little lazy 🙂 I was definitely repeating stuff over and over!

Here are my thoughts from this week’s outfits.

Most Worn Item | A tie this week! I wore my skinny Rockstar jeans from Old Navy and my brown wedges from Kelly & Katie in 5 of the 6 outfits. Ha! But I love those shoes! They are pretty comfy, and they go with everything!

Favorite Outfit | I like each outfit for different reasons! But a new-to-me outfit that made me happy was Day 1. Loved the chambray with the pearls! Adding the orange cardigan was a nice addition.

Least Favorite Outfit | Day 2…. I don’t dislike it, but I don’t like it on me. Maybe with a different skirt? But love the idea of a chambray shirt and a full floral skirt! I just think I need to hunt for a good skirt that fits me better.

This Week’s Surprise | I love how easily that cluster pearl necklace dresses up even the most casual outfit. It’s like the blazer of the accessories world!

Hardest Thing About This Week | Getting creative! I know I’m coming up to needing to put some creative outfits together… if you have ideas, pop them down below!

Elizabeth’s 12 Month Update

Forgive me while I shed a tear.

I’m not normally a sentimental girl. My husband is more likely to save every card he’s ever received, and all of his report cards from school.

But the last few weeks I’ve been all nostalgic, remembering this last year.

I’m sure every new parent says this, but this last year has gone so fast!

Elizabeth turned 1 a few weeks ago. It was such a delightful time spent with family and friends!

Anyway (I’ve gone all sniffely over here!), instead of my typical one month review, I thought I’d just share some pictures.

But first, some of the things she’s done this month!

She is now standing and cruising furniture rather fast. She’s not standing yet without pulling up on something.
For whatever reason, her monkey toy is her new favorite, but ONLY if it’s wrapped in a blanket like a baby. It’s pretty precious.
Elizabeth enjoys playing in her play room all by herself.
She also has become a book lover – she hands me books and wants me to read them to her.
Elizabeth is such a gabby girl! (When she’s in the mood for it, anyway)
She is also now saying “mama” beyond a whiny “help me!” mode. So that’s nice 🙂

Her schedule hasn’t changed a whole lot from her 11 month update. I thought she was dropping her first nap, but that turned out to be a hoax. 🙂
