Happy Friday!
I’ve been totally MIA this week… I promise to be back on the regular next week.
First, though, my sweet blogging friend Tif over at Bright on a Budget featured me for her Tour Around Blogland. So awesome! If you’re visiting from that, Hi! If you haven’t visited Bright on a Budget, go now! She always puts together great outfits using such affordable pieces!!
Anyway, it’s been quiet this week because we’ve been on vacation in Colorado!
Here are a few highlights from this week:
We went to the Rocky Mountain National Park on Tuesday. Elizabeth and I continued the tradition of pictures by national park signs that my dad started oh so many years ago!
Beautiful scenery at the park! Leaves changing, crisp air, bright blue sky! Pictures just don’t do it justice.
My favorite visit was to the Focus on the Family headquarters and a trip to the Adventures in Odyssey section! If you’ve never heard of Adventures in Odyssey, it’s a kid/family radio program that has been around since the late 80s. I love it! Still listen to it! You can catch up on episodes here. But, as you can see from the picture, I was the only one excited to be there.
They had a great kids play area that let Elizabeth get her wiggles out!!
We also visited Garden of the Gods. It’s so beautiful.
I have never visited the Air Force Academy campus before. I’ve only done a drive by before. So it was nice to actually see it all up close!
Let me know what you’ve been up to in the comments below! Have a great weekend!

Love your shoes!!!!
Thank you!
My goodness, it looks so beautiful there! bucket list!
It is!! The mountain areas are particularly pretty.
Such beautiful scenery! I’m so glad you were able to get away with your family for the week! And super jealous that you got to visit Focus on the Family! 🙂
It was nice to get away! And Focus on the Family was SO great!!! I think it was my favorite part 🙂
The pictures look like you have had a great time. I think vacation with the family is the best and most important thing to recharge one’s batteries.
Thank you!! It was a fabulous time 🙂 I feel a little recharged, but will probably need a vacation from our vacation haha!
Oh, somehow the post was sent with my old nickname. Sorry, if this was confusing.
Thankfully, it shows the same picture 🙂 so I was only briefly confused!
You’re welcome:) And thank you. Looks like you all have had a great time! The only places I’ve been out west are Nevada and Arizona. I’d love to go to Colorado one day. And I’m all about traditions, so I love your national parks pic one!

Add Colorado to your list! The state is so big, though, that you either need 3 weeks to see it all/do it justice, or only do a few things (like we did).
I always rolled my eyes at my dad when we pulled over and had to get out for the National Park sign pictures! But now I’m glad he did!
Thanks Katie! You have helped me look at Colorado with fresh eyes! I need to take Little Bee to Focus on the Family. 🙂 That looks like tons of fun! 🙂 Enjoy your vacation!!!
Little Bee would LOVE the Focus on the Family play area! The rest is a bit too big for him, but I loved it. I was so excited to go!
I love Adventures in Odyssey!
Me too! I was so giddy the minute we walked in! The Whit’s End ice cream parlor was closed the day we were there, but if it was open, I think I would have gone over the edge of excitement! 🙂
Fun trip! My hubby’s brother & sister-in-law just moved away from Boulder, which we’re sad about because we only had one chance to visit while they lived there. Such a great area for a vacation. We loved our hikes in the park but didn’t make it to Garden of the Gods.
We visited Boulder for part of the day, and I loved it there! It is nice to have a home base to stay at and then day trip from there. But this trip with a baby was a whole other beast. Mercy…
Looks like a super fun trip. I’d be interested if you have tips for traveling with little ones.
It was such a fun trip! But I’m sure pooped!!
I did a post about traveling with a baby shortly after my last trip – http://ktcupoftea.wordpress.com/2014/08/06/traveling-with-a-9-month-old-favorite-tips-to-make-that-flight-smoother/
And after THIS trip, I definitely need to do a post about how I packed my diaper bag this time. It was much lighter and I didn’t bring nearly as much 🙂
Sounds like a great trip! I especially love the first picture by the national parks sign! 🙂
My favorite picture as well!
