Forgive me while I shed a tear.
I’m not normally a sentimental girl. My husband is more likely to save every card he’s ever received, and all of his report cards from school.
But the last few weeks I’ve been all nostalgic, remembering this last year.
I’m sure every new parent says this, but this last year has gone so fast!
Elizabeth turned 1 a few weeks ago.Β It was such a delightful time spent with family and friends!
Anyway (I’ve gone all sniffely over here!), instead of my typical one month review, I thought I’d just share some pictures.
But first, some of the things she’s done this month!
- She is now standing and cruising furniture rather fast. She’s not standing yet without pulling up on something.
- For whatever reason, her monkey toy is her new favorite, but ONLY if it’s wrapped in a blanket like a baby. It’s pretty precious.
- Elizabeth enjoys playing in her play room all by herself.
- She also has become a book lover – she hands me books and wants me to read them to her.
- Elizabeth is such a gabby girl! (When she’s in the mood for it, anyway)
- She is also now saying “mama” beyond a whiny “help me!” mode. So that’s nice π
Her schedule hasn’t changed a whole lot from her 11 month update. I thought she was dropping her first nap, but that turned out to be a hoax. π
Look at how much she’s changed!! Here are her monthly pictures from the last year!
And finally, here are a few of my favorite pictures from this last year.
That should probably last you a lifetime for baby pictures π Thank you for indulging me!!

So cute!! I took hundreds (thousands?) of photos of Wendy during her first year. It’s so hard not to! Elizabeth is very photogenic. Enjoy it now, because Wendy is going through a phase where she does not want her picture taken. (Hmm… I wonder who she learned that from… *Cough cough husband cough*)
HAHA Oh no! Well, to be fair, Elizabeth is already moving into that phase… sitting still for a picture is a no go. Or I need to take at least 50 pictures at a time to get at least one good one. π
What an adorable collage!! I love seeing how much she’s changed in one year.
I think that’s my favorite as well! I need to get them all printed and framed π
Is that a statue of Jesus that she’s looking up at so adoringly? Stop the cuteness. Can’t handle it! π
It sure is! Snapped outside the church after her cousin’s dedication π it took many photos, though, to get that one. Haha
Goodness, same here – not that nostalgic normally, but looking back at Hendrik’s birth story totally made me cry. I can’t believe how tiny they started out and how they’re such little people now! Love seeing her monthly photos all lined up. Cutie. (And lucky you that nap thing was a hoax…we definitely seem to have dropped one here and I wasn’t so ready for that.)
I know – in a blink of an eye they are toddlers!!
Bunmer that the morning nap has dropped π maybe the next growth spurt it will come back! They are funny like that.
So cute! Is she walking? Just curious, Juliet is so close but not confident enough to do it yet. She looks like she is such a happy baby π
No walking yet on her own. She will walk if you hold her hands or if she’s pushing something, though. She can still only pull up to stand as well, not standing up all on her own. Sigh. It will come π
A mommy friend of mine reminded me that no asks when your kid is older “when did you first get teeth?” or “when did you start walking?” so really it doesn’t matter. They are on their own time π It’s just fun to see them develop!
That being said, I still try to work with Juliet, but it’s definitely going to happen when she feels like it! Lol
It’s so true! We get excited for these milestones, but it’s clearly not something to put on the resume π But she’ll walk when she’s ready!
