High Five for Friday

H54F - A weekly link up, hosted by Cup of Tea, Bright on a Budget, Coffee with Caitlin & Della Devoted

Welcome to High Five for Friday – hosted by Katie, Caitlin, Tif and Della! If you want to know more, read about it here!

This week’s featured blogger is Heather from My Little Happily Ever After! Her blog has an awesome collection of all things wonderful! Don’t forget to check her out!

Here’s what I was up to this week:

1. Anyone just get to the end of the week, wondering what it was you did??? That’s me this week. The week definitely ended up in a blur. It really feels like a Wednesday today, not a Friday! Of course, I haven’t really felt the TGIF feeling for a while…

2. We hosted a Theology in Medicine discussion group at our home on Wednesday. My husband has been a part of it for several months now. Thankfully, they are a Drinks and Appetizers kind of group, not full on meal! So I whipped up my favorite carmelized onion and goats cheese tarts from Trader Joe’s, threw together a cheese plate, and baked some chocolate chip cookies! Easy! (I snapped some pictures, but my husband got “delete happy” with our camera and deleted them all hahaha!)

3. I had a work meeting this week at my old company. I still do some consulting for them, from home, but this week I needed to do some process training, and we decided it was easier to do it if I came in. While I like most of my old coworkers there, I did get the heebee geebies walking in! But it was fun to strutting in there, thinking “Bam! Consultant coming through!”.

4. Elizabeth hit a few firsts yesterday! She gave me her first hug, unprompted. It was so sweet!! It was then quickly followed by her first clear “no” when I asked her to give me another hug. Breaking her mother’s heart so young.

5. I feel like every week deserves a little “What I’m Watching” round up! This week I became OBSESSED with watching Dance Moms. Don’t know why that show, all of the sudden, is so fascinating to me, but it’s sucked my week away. Netflix put up a small collection of episodes, and once I finished that, I felt incomplete somehow. Admitting to watching trashy TV feels freeing, somehow.

Fellow bloggers – ready to join in the link up? Just write a blog post about 5 things that made this week awesome! It could be 5 memories/highlights, 5 pairs of shoes you wore, 5 “good job” comments you got, or 5 pieces of chocolate you scarfed down when no one was looking. Add your link to your blog post down below (make sure it’s your blog post, not your blog home page!!). Hooray for that first unprompted hug!!! What a sweet moment!! I’ve never watched Dance Moms, and may need to check it out now 😉 Those “collection”s on Netflix just feel like such a tease to me though! lol! Have a wonderful weekend!! Thanks for co-hosting H54F! This is my first week linking up with the new hostesses, and I’m so glad to be getting in on the fun! 😉

Thanks for linking up with us!!! So glad you’re here! The collections are absolutely a tease!! They added HGTV shows a while back, and I got so addicted to the Property Brothers that I was actually sad when I came to the end!!

  2. Whitney says:

Yes! I totally get the heebie geebies thinking about going back to visit somewhere I’ve worked. I’m glad it’s not just me! 🙂

I love to read what everyone else is watching on Netflix! Dance Moms is always in my “trending” list so you must not be alone in your obsession! I’m still working through Friends and loving it. 🙂

I need to work through Friends! I actually never got into it when it originally aired, and it feels wrong, somehow!

  3. Whitney says:

Ahhhhhh the first hug is so sweet and NO quickly becomes a favorite word. So sad and kind of funny to watch their little opinions come out. Dance Moms is addicting. It’s hard to believe people actually act like that. It’s hard to turn away 🙂

    • Katie @ Cup of Tea says:

I have a hard time keeping a straight face when she says no! And I’m all caught up now on Dance Moms! *breathe sigh of relief

The first hug? That is so sweet! I haven’t felt the TGIF in a while either. We are usually on the go over the weekends, so get I excited for Monday because I can relax a little!

    • Katie @ Cup of Tea says:

Monday is definitely my “relax” day too! Other than grocery shopping, which I find relaxing, I don’t really have major plans for that day normally.

  5. Anne says:

Haha we’ve had plenty of “no” around here. But also some hugs too – this week was first kiss! Melt a momma’s heart. And I clearly need to check out these TJ’s tarts… yum.

  6. Miljoy says:

I have a love hate relationship with Netflix series. I love that they’re there, but hate that my productivity drops to zero when I get hooked on a new show haha. Your tart appetizer sounds amazing! I’ll have to look for the recipe on the TJ’s website. Made me laugh that Blake deleted all your photos, Brian is always doing that to me too!!
