About a month ago I wrote a pretty random post about nothing… and we all had such a good time laughing about it, I thought it should be a regular thing!
(But does that really make it random?? Probably not…. but who cares!)
I binged watched the BEST reality TV show for nerds/geeks – The Quest. Just watch this trailer and tell me it’s not awesome. It was gloriously cheesy, entertaining, and addicting. Shoot! One of the challenges included getting dragon’s tears from a hag. #geekout. It’s on Netflix now. You’re welcome. Did anyone watch it when it originally aired last year?
Speaking of random things to watch, I’ve ALSO binge watched a ton of the Holderness family on YouTube. (You may remember them from a Christmas Jammies song a few years ago?) Anyway, for Mother’s Day they were doing a whole series of the Dad trying to do things Mom does – ex. blowouts and giving birth. But I found this Pure Barre episode hilarious!!
I’ve decided I’m not the only one that hides indoors from the heat. All the outdoor creepy crawlies come in to the house in the summer too. Gross!
Moms – you know how you just hope those Daniel Tiger ditties are rubbing off on your kids and teaching them awesome lessons? Well…. I may have sung “Take a deep breath, and count to 4” to myself several times this week. That show knows no barriers.
I just noticed that my husband and I have duplicate books from college. We took a lot of the same classes, and didn’t realize then that we’d eventually be sharing a bookshelf. If we did have that kind of hindsight, we would have saved a lot of money on book fees. We need a bookshelf cleanse!
A few weeks ago I changed my Instagram user name from kt_cupofteablog to ktcupoftea. You know – consistency of branding across all platforms. Very “marketing” of me. Although I kind of liked having “blog” as part of my user name to alert people I know in real life that you are about to follow Katie the Blog…. I still have a small panic attack when people I know IRL follow my blog IG or let me know they read the blog. Why? I don’t know… they’d just better not be laughing at me behind my back (or blog)!
If you could have an Etsy shop and sell anything you want, what would you sell? I am just fascinated by the stuff you can find on Etsy! My current obsession are these adorable watercolors of family portraits from Ink and Bobbin
Where is everyone going on summer vacation? Are you taking one? Anywhere you WISH you were going?
Who can still log in to their Myspace account? I tried to do this a few weeks ago. I either can’t remember my password OR I just decided enough was enough and deleted the account entirely when I moved over to Facebook back in the ol’ 2005 (or 2006?). I wish Katie of 2005 wasn’t so impulsive…
So thoughts? Anything random you would like to share? Don’t leave me hanging!

Now I’m officially obsessed with Ink and Bobbins portraits. I have to do those. I’m so not crafty and whenever I go on to Etsy I want to go back in time to my junior high arts and crafts class (which I didn’t pay attention in at the time).
Aren’t they adorable??? I want to get a family portrait, one of just Elizabeth and one of our house!!
The Holderness family videos are just great! I love them! I totally hide inside this summer.. and having a baby helps my excuse. 🙂 Such a fun post!
Glad I’m not the only hider! It’s just so icky! Thanks!
LOVE that video of the guys at barre. Thanks for sharing for a good laugh. Hope you’re having a great week!
It was just too funny not to share 🙂 Glad you liked it as much as I did.
Love posts like these! I am going to Edisto Beach and have already been to Chattanooga, Tennessee.
If I could sell anything on Etsy, it would probably be jewelry, even though I don’t make jewelry, nor do I have any idea how to.

You sound like me and Etsy. No idea how to do something but would love to do it!!
I just found Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt on Netflix and thought it might be my own silly “guilty pleasure show” to watch … but now my husband is hooked on it, too! So we are looking forward to more Netflix shows this summer! No real vacation plans, except for visiting a few local places and going to our botanical garden’s annual music festival! 🙂
Oh the music festival sounds like fun! They do similar things around here too. And I have a feeling of my husband watched Kimmy Schmidt he would be hooked too 🙂
I also hide indoor, but for another reason: our summer is rainy, windy and cold at the moment. No skirts, no sunglasses, no flip-flops *boo*. I’m hoping for better weather the next weeks. Just two more days of work and than i have three week off. Yeah! Me and my hubby will travel to Denmark for one week.
Oh, and i totally understand your small panic attacks when people from real life read your blog, i feel the same way.
Glad I’m not the only one that gets anxious if I know friends are reading the blog! And boo!! What stinky weather! At least Denmark is coming. What fun!
That Pure Bare video was hilarious! Thanks for sharing. The creepy crawlers migrating towards the air conditioned house is a real thing! #disgusting. We just got back from the beach and it did not disappoint. We’ve been book shelf purging and it feels so good 🙂
The IRL friends conflict–YES. I am so much more awkward about my life in person, even though I share quite a lot about it online! Not being face-to-face with my audience def helps!!
Also, WHOA MYSPACE! I know my best friend in high school had to force me to sign up and like configure everything for me, haha. And I’m pretty sure I tried to sound deep by putting quotes like “Living is easy with eyes closed” on mine! 😀
I can still login to my Myspace.lol I need to transfer all of my pics. Also, I don’t have a lot of books leftover from (any) college because I’d sell them all for money ASAP. Girl, you know how I am!hahaha And it looks like we’re trekking back down to Charleston for vacay at some point in August.

I had a HS history teacher say that the books on your shelf tell people about you. So I was determined to have my collection start off right by saving the college class paperbacks (not textbooks!). But it was sure silly! If you’re going to Charleston, you’ll be oh so close to me! Yay!
