Christmas Gift Guide | The Perfect Mug

A Christmas Gift Guide to the perfect mug!

Gold Monogram Mug | Green Chalkboard Mug Set | Home Alone Quote Mug
Merry Little Christmas Mug | Monogram Mug | Home State Mug

I can’t believe I’m talking about Christmas and gift ideas, BUT ’tis almost the season! And what better way to start talking gifts than with a really great one – MUGS!

It seemed appropriate with the upcoming ‘Tis the Season Mug Swap that we should discuss mugs. Plus it’s such a fun, inexpensive way to get a personalized gift for someone. And who doesn’t like a mug?

Etsy has become my go-to place for fun, personalized mugs. You can find almost anything you want. I really want that Home Alone mug! My second favorite Christmas movie, and I can just see in my head Kevin saying that with his curled up lip.

If you’re itching to buy something quickly, then Target has an adorable chalkboard-inspired set right now! And Anthropologie is a great option too. I splurge on an Anthro mug every year.

One of my current favorite themes for gifts right now are state pride items. Tee shirts, printables, and even mugs! There are so many great designs on Etsy, but I’m loving the Home State mug above. The vendor has one for every state!

The best part about a mug gift is that it’s easy to take it one step further! Stick in your fav hot cocoa mix and mini marshmallows. Or pair it with a bag of a favorite coffee! Or even tuck in a Starbucks or Dunkin gift card! It’s a thoughtful but simple gift that works for so many people.

What is your favorite mug? Do you ever buy mugs for people at Christmastime?

I LOVE mugs! I love them so much that Paul makes me live by the “one in/one out” rule. Otherwise we’d have a kitchen full of nothing but mugs. Ha! My favorite one right now is my Cinderella mug from WDW. 🙂 You found some darling ones – I’ve never thought to shop Etsy for mugs. Great gift idea, for sure!

I’m a mug girl too!! I’ve really been good the last few years by pairing down my random ones and only keeping a few memento type mugs. But I’m feeling the itch, especially this time of year!!

My mom and I are big mug givers! I found her a gilmore girls on for this year and she got me a cute grey monogram for my birthday a few weeks ago. These are great options, nothing better than a christmas mug!

Umm okay I need all of those mugs! I have a rapidly growing collection of mugs, but my favorite one is probably my one that says “#hastag” since I usually express myself in some form of verbal hashtags haha.

LOVE that Merry Little Christmas mug. I would use it ALL year. My favorite mugs are large ones. The one I use all the time lately says #pumpkinspicelife :).

These mugs are so great! How cute are the fonts on the Merry Little Christmas one?! And the Home Alone one cracked me up. I heard “Cool Jerk” the other day and immediately thought of the uncle in Home Alone, haha! In other news, I’m excited for the mug swap! 🙂

    Hey Katie,

Good morning! I was “parked” by you today on Tuesday Talk, and I’m glad to find your site.

I love mugs and coffee cups! People give them to us all the time. Maybe I need to start giving some away!

Hope you have a blessed day~

Thanks for stopping by, Melanie! We definitely had a surplus of mugs for a while, and I was giving them away like hot cakes HAHAHA! But mugs are such fun gifts. Hope you’re having a great weekend!

Beautiful featured mugs! I love collecting them!
I’m still on the hunt for a tutorial on a DIY Sharpie mug that works! Made some beautiful ones last year but the wording eventually washed off.

    • Katie @ Cup of Tea says:

Oh poo!! A sharpie mug has been on my DIY to do list for a while. They look so cool! But its a bummer that it’s not the best DIY… sigh…

Our Mom’s Group at church is doing a mug exchange for our December meeting. We are writing our names in permanent marker on the bottom of the mugs that we bring. That way the person who gets our mug remembers to pray for us every time they use the mug! The Home Alone mug is too funny! It is a tradition in our home to watch that movie every year at Christmas. 🙂
