High Five for Friday #63 | Happy Easter!

H54F - A weekly link up, hosted by Cup of Tea, Bright on a Budget, Coffee with Caitlin & Della Devoted

Welcome to High Five for Friday – hosted by me, TifDella, and Caitlin! If you want to know more, read about it here!

If you’re new to High Five for Friday, welcome! We’re so happy you’re here! When you link up below, could you add a * after your name? That way we all know you’re here for the first time and can come say hello!

This week’s featured blogger is Stephanie from Stephanie Spring. One of her posts this week about the mix tape of her life had me thinking we were kindred spirits! (Point of Grace… N’Sync… Hanson… Adele… take me back!) Stephanie is a lifestyle blogger who loves to blog about the joys of life. Be sure to swing over and say hello!

It was quite the week for us!

1. I don’t want to jinx us, but by about Wednesday this week we seem to all be 100% cured from our plagues. Shoot – I’m even sleeping in our bed regularly now! My coughing was so bad there that I was sleeping on the couch (which was VERY comfortable, actually!). That was for about 2.5 weeks. So I’m back to the land of pillows and sheets. My husband is feeling much better, and Elizabeth is basically running on extra energy she had been saving up while she was sick. HA!

2. I realized we’ve been sick the ENTIRE month of March… gah! Crazy. Since this week felt a little more normal, I took the opportunity to work ahead on the blog and get some future posts done. I decided it’s been post-lite around here in general this month, so one more week of quiet won’t kill me. HA! So next week we’re back to the usual! Thanks for sticking around and being patient this month.

3. Big Girl Bed has been going well! We’re 1.5 weeks into this and so far, so good! She is AWESOME about sleeping in her bed at nap times, but at night time we’ve noticed she’s awake and hopping in and out of bed for at least an hour. Now, granted, when she was sleeping in her crib, she could have been awake for an hour! We think the problem in the night light we have in there. She didn’t have a night light before, but we worried about her trying to get out of bed in the dark. Unfortunately, I think the night light is just creating an opening to get up and stay awake. So Operation No Night Light begins this weekend. If you didn’t see last week’s vlog with the big girl bed reveal, watch now! (Or at least skip ahead to where Elizabeth sees her bed – so cute!)

4. We’ve had beautiful weather this week! A lot of time spent outdoors, running around. In fact, Wednesday we spent the morning at our favorite park for about 2 hours. We even had a picnic! I’m quickly realizing our lovely weather will soon be replaced by “hot and humid” weather… so we need to be outside as much as possible!

5.  I’m officially 30 weeks. Mercy! This pregnancy has gone by so fast! So far, so good in that department! I passed my glucola test last week, and other than just being tired, I have had a really great pregnancy. I’m noticing more Braxton Hicks this time around, which I didn’t notice with Elizabeth (maybe I didn’t know what to look for???), but this time they are fairly regular. With Elizabeth moving to her big girl room, we’ve been working on Baby Bruder’s room! The crib linens arrived this week, and my husband hung up the COOLEST metal vintage airplane! Elizabeth’s nursery didn’t look this awesome! Can’t wait to give you all a sneak peek soon.

Hope you have a wonderful Easter weekend! What special plans do you have? We’ll be headed up to the in-laws in mere hours for festive fun. This song has been my Easter theme song for the last few years.

He is Risen!

So glad to hear you’re feeling better (and don’t have to sleep on the couch anymore, ha!)! Where do kids get their energy?! Once I’m in bed, it takes a lot more than a nightlight to get me out!! In other news, I can’t read “Braxton Hicks” without giggling because I recently overheard this guy on the el call the Myers-Briggs personality test “the Braxton Hicks or something.” DYING. Anyway, hope you guys have a wonderful Easter weekend!!

Bahahaha!!! Myers Briggs is very similar to Braxton Hicks! That’s hilarious. And I’m always exhausted too when my head hits the pillow, so Elizabeth is blessed with extra energy reserves. Ha! Happy Easter!

So glad to hear you are all finally feeling better. I can only imagine what it would be like to have a cycle of sickness in your house. Especially pregnant no less. Seems like things are looking up! At least you got some blog work done. It feels good to be on top of it. Have a great Easter!
