Can’t wait to read some more fun things this week!

Friends! The last few weeks we’ve been filled with pirate action. Our summer theme the previous week was Pirates, to go along with the Shipwrecked VBS theme. (anyone else have kids doing shipwrecked?? My Lighthouse is on repeat!)

Our fun pirate week included pirate ships, tattoos, crafts and treasures!

This week, Elizabeth has had a Peter Pan-themed summer camp at her preschool (more pirates!) so she’s had a blast this week! The first day she came home dressed as Peter Pan, and it was adorable!

But we’ve also spent some time this week thinking of fun activities to do. One hit was taking some basic numbers flash cards and creating an action game where the kids do an action – like touch toes, jump, twirl – to the number on the card. They both loved this! Elizabeth even came up with a “run around the house” action and they were SO into it. And exhausted! HAHA!

Another popular game this week was playing “sleep” 🙂 Can we play this game every day?? They basically wanted their sleeping bags and pretended to sleep in the sunroom. Win! (had questions over on IG about the sleeping bags. Elizabeth’s was from Pottery Barn Kids, and William’s bag is from KidKraft)

We also had our first local CSA box! Basically for the next 8 weeks we pick up a box of farm produce for a fun “what are we going to do??” challenge!

And we had a GREAT date night last night! We checked out a new Ethiopian restaurant in downtown Durham and it was DELICIOUS!!! I don’t think I’ve had Ethiopian food before, but I’ll definitely be back! And the server was so sweet – she brought over forks and said “we normally eat with our hands, but since it’s your first time, you’re allowed some forks” HA! It was also great weather – perfect night for an evening stroll.

And now, it’s time to link up your posts! Can’t wait to cruise around and see what you all have been blogging about!

We have been having fun!! It helps the summer go by easier, with lots of fun mixed in! I used to dread summer and the end of our routines. But I actually look forward to it now!

Our VBS was Shipwrecked theme, too. It was so cute! Those songs are catchy. At the end of the week Olive asked me to buy the soundtrack for home. We are all hooked 🙂

That soundtrack is non-stop around here! William is constantly asking for “my my house” HAHA!
