Welcome to High Five for Friday – hosted by me, Tif, and Della! If you want to know more, read about it here!
This week’s featured blogger is Kelsey from The Peacock Roost! If you love DIYs and home improvement projects, she is your girl!! She and her husband just finished a bathroom remodel and I’m loving it! The blue paint color they settled on is so pretty. Swing over and say hello!
This whole week has FLOWN by! It was one of the best, but busiest weeks we’ve had in a long time. Can’t wait to catch you all up on it. (And in case you’re wondering…. the tick is still in my back.)
1. This weekend was one of the best ever. So much fun and friends packed into a few days. Friday night we had dinner with friends and kiddos. Elizabeth had 6 trips to the bathroom during that dinner… but it was fun. Saturday was a full day at church PLUS potluck after with friends and kiddos. And when we came home we celebrated my husband’s birthday too! We had a great time decorating, fixing special treats, and singing “Happy Birthday” really loud. And then on Sunday we had dear friends who have moved away come stay with us! Sunday evening we had a simple dinner and dessert and let the kids play outside. This whole weekend was such a balm to my soul. Delightful!
2. Wednesday we had a spontaneous trip to our museum as a family! It was short lived as a “family” trip, because my husband had to head home after being there a grand total of 5 minutes…. BUT Elizabeth and I rallied and had a fun time.
3. I had another OB appointment this week. Baby Boy is head down and super low… I guess he’s as ready as he needs to be. I’m officially 35 weeks now, and next week I start the “once a week” appointment schedule, which means the end is in sight. I’m really excited! I thought I would be more nervous/anxious, but nope. Totally excited! We’ll see how long that lasts…
4. You may have missed some good posts this week! I shared some favorite new recipes you HAVE to try. There are also a few things I’d like to purchase post-pregnancy (confession: I’ve already bought 2…). I also posted our behind-the-scenes vlog on the ups and downs of potty training. It was tough… but we’re one month in and things are positive!
5. Ending with a funny story I’ve been saving for you all week. On Monday, after having lunch out with friends, husband, Elizabeth and I returned home to find our front door wide open!! Panic! My husband headed inside to find the intruder while I sat in the car, armed with nothing but a tube of chapstick, ready to tackle the perps as they escaped. I heard my husband holler “KATIE!!” so I bolted inside! Pregnant Lady to the rescue! When I got inside, my husband yelled from upstairs “there is a CAT up here!”. Say WHAT?! It had cornered itself under a bed and refusing to come out. So we closed all doors, I opened the front door and my husband poked the cat. And out she bolted! Hooray! Glad it was only a cat and not a weirdo.
What were you up to this week? Let me know!

I would have been so scared to come home to an open door. Thank goodness it was just a cat!
Enjoy your final few weeks of pregnancy!
It was terrifying to see it hanging wide open! And even more scary watching my husband go inside by himself. But thank goodness – just a cat! HAHA! Have a great weekend!
Thank you for featuring me today!! So fun! It sounds like you all had an awesome weekend!! That cat burglar story is too funny. Glad it turned out to be something you can laugh about in the future!

Definitely a hilarious story that was shared so many times this week. I was just itching to share on the blog too! HAHA! So happy we got to feature you today! Have a great weekend.
Sounds like you had a really great week! It’s so nice catching up with friends you haven’t seen for a while! And I’m glad it was just a cat in your house and not a creeper or something!
EXACTLY!!! Cat – we can handle that. Hope you have a great weekend!
Ha! That cat story is totally funny!
Isn’t it??? It was thankfully easy to chase out. It could have been MUCH worse! Have a great weekend!
Yay so glad he’s in position- I’m so excited for you! Sounds like such a fun week =)
I don’t remember my first being so low and ready this early… so this could be an interesting stretch of final weeks! Hope you have a great weekend!
Oh my gosh I can’t believe you had a literal cat burglar!! With all the random cats roaming around our neighborhood, it’s only a matter of time until one them tries to make our house its home! I also love how you were all set to defend yourself with chapstick haha! 🙂 Hope you guys have a great weekend (sans cat guests!)!
HAHA a REAL cat burglar! 🙂 It’s so random/funny, right? And chapstick, when used correctly, is an effective weapon against intruders 😉 Have a great weekend!
Those photos of Elizabeth are adorable! It’s so exciting that you’ll soon be a family of 4!

So so soon!!! Just last night my husband declared (who normally doesn’t “declare” anything) that he was really excited for this baby! So we’re all a twitter with excitement. Have a great weekend!
Yay for almost being done with pregnancy! I can’t imagine how that must feel but I bet it will be good when your son is here. Also what a cute story about the cat. A literal cat burglar. The cuddliest kind 🙂 http://mymonochromaticlife.com
Thank goodness it was a cat, right?? It could have been crazier! Maybe a skunk??? HAHA! Hope you’ve had a great weekend!
YAY for such a fabulous week for you!!
It was such a fun week!! Hope you’re having a great weekend!
Glad you had such a fun weekend with friends! Your cat burglar story is so funny! I would have immediately called the police – and then would have been mortified to discover it was only a cat! Haha!
HAHA! I would have too, actually. But my husband just bounded in. Probably fueled from just having had lunch. 🙂
A for real CAT burglar!?!? That’s a great story. So glad your story had a funny ending because I was nervous for you for a second. Good luck with your weekly appointments – glad baby boy is getting ready to go 🙂
Even the cats are bound and determined to turn you into a cat lady.haha
HAHA CONSPIRACIES!
