Sure, I’m on vacation, and posts are a little lighter around here, BUT that doesn’t mean I’m hiding under a rock!

I thought since I am currently out of town, and have no need for a Menu Monday, that it would be fun to pull a favorite recipe from the archives.
There are so many new readers here at Cup of Tea (hi!!!) that you may have just missed this one – the vegetarian California BLT.
This sandwich isn’t particularly unique. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if you told me you’ve had something similar. But this is our little family’s twist on a classic.
Yum! This is our California BLT sandwich! We use vegetarian bacon, guacamole, sprouts, cucumbers and tomato to make the yummiest sandwich.
Why “California”? Well… we started making it when we were in California. 🙂
You can read the original post for the full recipe! But this sandwich is perfect for the summer, especially with some yummy fresh tomatoes! Sub real bacon in place of the fake if you prefer. 😉

This week’s featured blogger is Trish from Tales from Trish! I really loved her 10 Things you didn’t know about her list. (I haven’t found a post like this that I haven’t liked!) We both share a love for lemon desserts. Yum! She’s also a crochet-er (that’s a word, right?) and finds some pretty awesome pin inspiration. Swing over and say hello!
So another week has blitzed by. I wasn’t quite ready for this week to end…
1. It’s been a really fast paced week around here! It always seems that when you could use the extra time to get things done, the week flies by quickly. Life… it’s twisted.
2. One of things making me anxious got moved to a later date. Que *sigh of relief* Our church is building a brand new church building and I’m on the fundraising/building committee. We have a volunteer mission group coming in the Fall to build the shell of the church. It’s essentially like a good ol’ barn raising! The volunteers come in for 2 weeks, and by the time they leave, we’ll have a building, roof, plumbing… basically almost done! My job, though, will be coordinating all those volunteers and getting them places to stay, transportation, and any other supplies they need at the site. I had a mini panic attack when I realized the date I had was for the end of September, and I’d be back from Michigan for only a few weeks before they come to town. But found out this week the dates are now late October. PHEW! More time to organize!
3. Elizabeth and I leave tomorrow for 2 weeks at my parents’ house in Michigan! Summer is the best time to go to Michigan. I’m so excited for Michigan blueberries, peaches AND corn!
4. Here are a few of my fav pics from the week!
Funny story about that bell! A lot of the songs Elizabeth sings in her little class at church involve ringing bells. When we sing them at home she shakes her hand around, pretending she has a bell. I thought it would be fun to find a bell and haul it out before we go to church, so she could “warm up” and get excited about going to church! So off to the thrift store we went, which is the best place for random treasures. Sure enough, the bell was found! The whole walk back to the cash register Elizabeth rang that bell! It was hilarious! She was a one girl parade.
5. I’ve had a lot of fun doing Vlogust so far! We’re already on day 14! Wild! Almost half over. I’ll still be vlogging while I’m up in Michigan, so be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel so you don’t miss out. You can catch up with Vlogust so far here. But here’s my fav vlog from the week!

Let’s talk about a new obsession – looking glowing and radiant with highlight! And when I saw that this week’s Makeup Mixup topic was all about highlight, I knew this was the post for me.
This liquid highlight is SO PRETTY! I could swipe it all over my face, but even a little dab right on the cheekbones is perfect for everyday looks. Let’s face it. It’s a great product for someone that’s a little bit of a dunce when it comes to makeup. Even if you slap it on the wrong spots, you just come across looking pretty and radiant.
The Becca highlight is a little pricey. BUT there are some new drugstore products that look great too! I really want to try the new Lumi illuminator products from L’Oreal. I am a huge fan of the Lumi BB Cream, but now there is a powder and liquid highlight to the line. Sign me up!

I love haul videos! Especially if they are a fun assortment of things. And my birthday haul (video above) is no exception! I got some beauty, shoes, home stuff AND kitchen gear!
Now, the older I get, I definitely buy myself presents. I can’t help it. All those stores send you birthday coupons, and I just can’t resist. Plus, my birthday (July 31) coincides perfectly with summer sales and back-to-school early fall releases. It’s a great time to hit the mall!
