H54F - A weekly link up, hosted by Cup of Tea, Bright on a Budget, Coffee with Caitlin & Della Devoted

Welcome to High Five for Friday – hosted by Katie, Caitlin, Tif and Della! If you want to know more, read about it here!

Happy Friday the 13th! Didn’t even realize it until today. Watch your back. Haha!

Chelsea from Red Velvet Rooster on High Five for Friday

This week’s featured blogger is Chelsea from Red Velvet Rooster. Love that blog name! Chelsea blogs about all things home, from decor to recipes to what’s up with her sweet boy! Be sure to swing by and say Hi!!

Here’s what I was up to! (Which, admittedly, hasn’t been much)

1. This week’s weather has been absolutely gorgeous!!! We have spent so much time playing outside. Not to mention windows open, airing the house out. One favorite was going a walk, sans stroller, and letting Elizabeth walk down a gravel road. I’ve never seen her so jolly! Spring has sprung!

2. The weekend’s baby shower went so well. It’s just such fun having a chance to celebrate a sweet friend with a whole posse of sweet friends! I was so tickled at how well everything came together, from the decor to food to fun! And we were so lucky to have beautiful weather!

3. I signed up for Stitch Fix! So many bloggers out there participate, but that’s not why I chose to sign up. Honestly, I love the idea of a stylist sending me clothes that may be out of my comfort zone, and then getting to try them on at home, and mixing it with my existing clothes. Just seems like the best shopping experience! I’ve heard mixed reviews on Stitch Fix (quality, cost, and picks), but looking forward to trying it for myself.

4. Speaking of clothes… folks…. I need to find a bathing suit. *shudder* I’ve been looking for one for a few weeks now. We’ll be headed to the beach in a few weeks for vacation, and while I don’t anticipate a lot of swimming, I want to be prepared. I haven’t had a swimsuit for years! Anyone have any brand recommendations? Or strong drinks to have before going and looking?

5. We’re headed up to DC this weekend! We’ll be celebrating our darling niece’s First Birthday!  It’s going to be such fun watching the cousins playing together. I’m a little bummed its forecast to rain all weekend, but will still be fun being with family, nonetheless.

So what were you up to this week??? I want to know!

Friday is almost over in Australia and I had no idea it was the 13th. Don’t think I walked past any black cats or under any ladders today.
I’m going to watch your comments section like a hawk for bathing suit suggestions. I head back to america in two weeks and just finalized our plans which include a lot of pool and beach days. Definitely in the market for a new one.
Hope you have a fabulous weekend!!!

I never notice those funny date things either, until I’m forced to look at a calendar 🙂 Hope you’re in the clear!! And stalk away. I just feel at a loss as to where one finds good bathing suits that aren’t aging, but aren’t too young…. fingers crossed!! Have a great weekend yourself!!

So glad that you’ve been enjoying gorgeous weather!! Our snow has officially melted here, and we’ve been soaking up the sun too 🙂 The baby shower snapshot was lovely! Sounds like it was a wonderful day for all!! Enjoy your weekend and trip to D.C.!! xo

That lace tablecloth from the shower is beautiful! I hope you are able to find a swimsuit. I found my swimsuit last year that I really like from Target that is the Assets brand.

The tablecloth was beautiful! I wish it was mine!!! That’s been added to my “must buy” list now 🙂 I didn’t think about the Assets brand! Thanks! Have a great weekend!

Looks like a lovely shower! Interested to hear what you think of Stitch Fix, and for bathing suits I like JCrew – options in lots of silhouettes, and usually free shipping.

I love the idea of Stitch Fix! But we’ll see about execution 🙂 I had J Crew on my list. I’ve always liked their mix-n-match separates. Have a great weekend!!

I loved being able to air out our house this week, too! Your shower decorations are beautiful, I’m sure the mommy was thrilled! Hope you have a lovely time in DC, rain or no rain. 🙂

It was a glorious baby shower – such fun!! And fresh air in the house is just so wonderful. Have a great weekend!!!

Oooo excellent! This was a tea theme, and I must say, it all came together so pretty!! And the food friends brought was so scrumptious!

Stitch Fix is a lot of fun! I do it whenever I am feeling like I need some suggestions. That great part is that they DO take you out of your comfort zone. Although some of the prices are high, I think it’s worth it to get a piece I wouldn’t have other wise known to try. Hope you love it too!

Yay for beautiful weather!! It’s the best spending days outside!
Also, I’ve been wondering if I should take the plunge and sign up for stitch fix?! I think I want to give it a try!

  8. Katie says:

I’ve tried Stitch Fix and haven’t LOVED it every time! But have found a few different things which is nice!! You are right that you need to try it for yourself. It’s different for everyone. Can’t wait to here what you think. Enjoy DC!!

Your baby shower turned out great!! I love that Tea for Two theme. I bought a new suit a few years ago at Target. I don’t usually care for their swim suits, but they started carrying some higher end ones that were around $50. It was great quality, still looks brand new two years later and has a fun pattern. Kohls also has great options sometimes. I was hesitant to shop there because I’d never had much luck so I was pleasantly surprised with their options.

Enjoy your weekend in DC! My hubby is headed there tomorrow and I’d be super jealous if he ran into you 🙂

    • Katie @ Cup of Tea says:

I need to check out Target (stick to the bathing suits, Katie. Just the bathing suits…) and Khols. I don’t know why I didn’t think about Khols! I agree, I have a hard time finding things at Khols, but they should have a good selection!
