Welcome to High Five for Friday – hosted by Katie, Tif, Della, and Caitlin! If you want to know more, read about it here!
Our H54F Good Hangout plans are coming together! Stay tuned for more info next week, but we’re really excited to host a Google Hangout at 9:30PM EST, August 27.
This week’s featured blogger is Trish from Tales from Trish! I really loved her 10 Things you didn’t know about her list. (I haven’t found a post like this that I haven’t liked!) We both share a love for lemon desserts. Yum! She’s also a crochet-er (that’s a word, right?) and finds some pretty awesome pin inspiration. Swing over and say hello!
So another week has blitzed by. I wasn’t quite ready for this week to end…
1. It’s been a really fast paced week around here! It always seems that when you could use the extra time to get things done, the week flies by quickly. Life… it’s twisted.
2. One of things making me anxious got moved to a later date. Que *sigh of relief* Our church is building a brand new church building and I’m on the fundraising/building committee. We have a volunteer mission group coming in the Fall to build the shell of the church. It’s essentially like a good ol’ barn raising! The volunteers come in for 2 weeks, and by the time they leave, we’ll have a building, roof, plumbing… basically almost done! My job, though, will be coordinating all those volunteers and getting them places to stay, transportation, and any other supplies they need at the site. I had a mini panic attack when I realized the date I had was for the end of September, and I’d be back from Michigan for only a few weeks before they come to town. But found out this week the dates are now late October. PHEW! More time to organize!
3. Elizabeth and I leave tomorrow for 2 weeks at my parents’ house in Michigan! Summer is the best time to go to Michigan. I’m so excited for Michigan blueberries, peaches AND corn!
4. Here are a few of my fav pics from the week!
Funny story about that bell! A lot of the songs Elizabeth sings in her little class at church involve ringing bells. When we sing them at home she shakes her hand around, pretending she has a bell. I thought it would be fun to find a bell and haul it out before we go to church, so she could “warm up” and get excited about going to church! So off to the thrift store we went, which is the best place for random treasures. Sure enough, the bell was found! The whole walk back to the cash register Elizabeth rang that bell! It was hilarious! She was a one girl parade.
5. I’ve had a lot of fun doing Vlogust so far! We’re already on day 14! Wild! Almost half over. I’ll still be vlogging while I’m up in Michigan, so be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel so you don’t miss out. You can catch up with Vlogust so far here. But here’s my fav vlog from the week!

Such cute pictures! Have fun in MI!
Thank you!!! Have a wonderful weekend!
The story of the bell is too cute! I love how Elizabeth was moving her hand like a pretend bell before she got a real bell upgrade! 🙂 Hope you guys have a great weekend!!
YES! You can see why I just had to get her a bell 🙂 It was worth the loud ringing. HAHA! Have a great weekend!
Relax on the worry over the church! It will fall into place as soon as you take a deep breath, have a nice warm mug, and let God step in. The bell thing is precious but I think I would be going crazy after about ten minutes because my kids wouldn’t chill out on the bell!!!! Michigan bound – safe travels and fun memories to you! I cannot wait to see your next Vlog! xoxoxo Amanda
Exactly – it will all work out. It better! Or else I’ll have a lot of people at my house those 2 weeks 🙂 But at least my deadline is pushed back. The bell ringing DID get tedious – so I tucked it away for now. But it’s only to be pulled out once a week, so hoping the joy on her face makes up for the ringing. HA! Have a great weekend!
Ah, so jealous of your trip to Michigan! My husband is from West Michigan, and I love spending time there in the summer. Have so much fun with your family!

West Michigan is just so beautiful, and that’s where I’m headed! Can’t wait!! Hope you have a fun weekend!
Hope you have a safe trip and can’t wait to see more Vlogust from Michigan! Making hotel reservations and coordinating schedules for people other than myself is not one of my favorite tasks…bless your heart! Glad you have more time than you thought!
I’m so grateful I have more time. And we’ll see how well I can handle Vlogust from Michigan! Fingers crossed I can keep up 🙂 Have a great weekend!!
I totally understand your anxiety with church! Try to let go and let God. Easier said than done, I know. Have fun in Michigan! I’m hoping to get a week away to spend with my family in KY soon, too. It does the heart wonders 🙂 Can’t wait to catch up on your vlogust vids and I’m looking forward to the Google hangout! Happy Friday!

It has been a fun challenge so far! Have a wonderful weekend!!
The bell reminds me of a set of drums, a horn, a whistle and all things noisy! I bet she has a blast shaking it. I see a musician in the future. Enjoy your trip and a relief from our NC heat and humidity.
She loves it!! And yes – a humidity break would be nice 🙂 have a great weekend!
Have a great time at your parents! It’s nice to get away and get some “home” comfort!
Thanks for the feature 🙂 makes me very happy!
