High Five for Friday #43 | The BEST Surprise Date

H54F - A weekly link up, hosted by Cup of Tea, Bright on a Budget, Coffee with Caitlin & Della Devoted

Welcome to High Five for Friday – hosted by me, TifDella, and Caitlin! If you want to know more, read about it here!

Did you miss Sunday’s Google Hangout?? Don’t worry! You can catch up and watch it here! We had such a great time talking about all things Fall. It was a hoot!

Our featured blogger this week is Erin from Chasing Roots! She’s a blogger who’s tiptoed all over the Midwest, and now lives in Texas with her family! You’ll definitely want to see her post today – a look back at past Halloweens! Really cute! Swing over and say hi!

Alrighty – it’s H54F time!

1. Shall we talk about the surprise date? I somehow missed that my husband had “Date Night” blocked off on the calendar Wednesday, but it was such a pleasant surprise!  We went out to eat, and then started walking down to the performing arts building. THAT’S when it hit me! We were going to see John Cleese and Eric Idle from Monty Python!! Squeeeeeee!!!

Seeing John Cleese and Eric Idle for our surprise date!

And my sweet husband got really close seats (not those red club chairs… unfortunately, but close!). It was such a fun evening! If you’ve ever been a fan of Monty Python, this would have just made your day! They played a video of an hilarious sketch that I hadn’t seen before. You NEED to see this!

2. Shall I catch you up on the church building project??? Friday and Sunday last week were such big building days! They got all the exterior walls up, to start prepping for the roof. Monday all the trusses were put up. Unfortunately, rain settled in Tuesday and Wednesday, so construction stopped. I didn’t get a chance to go over yesterday, but plan to swing down there today to see what they all need. But here’s a video of Sunday!

3. It was a fairly quiet blog week over here this week, BUT it was a busy video week! I caught up on uploading all the Vlogtober vids I was behind on, AND managed to record a few extras. This week’s favorite Vlogtober video is all about getting to know Elizabeth. We had a fun time filming that! FYI – if you’re not subscribed to my YouTube channel, do it now! I’m almost to 500 subscribers! But here’s a little video of Elizabeth and I – short, but hilarious!

4. On Tuesday, before the rain settled in, we managed to sneak in a quick family walk. It was so nice to crunch through the leaves. There’s nothing better than that crisp, Fall air – that smell of cool air and dried leaves. Such a delightful smell!

5. This weekend should be delightfully quiet, compared to last weekend! We are providing food for our church building volunteers on Saturday (that reminds me… need to go out and grab some ingredients!) and Sunday I’m sure I’ll head to the site for a little bit. But I’m looking forward to some quiet, relaxing moments this weekend. It’s been such a busy month or two that I’m not exactly sure what to do with this slight wind down… BUT it’s fun getting over to the site to check in, go grocery shopping for the cooks, and help where I can!

So what were you up to this week? Let me know! Or better yet, link up!

Omg Elizabeth is too cute. I was dying over her video, and I’m not even a kid person! (I love that the video was supposed to be about pets haha!) I was cracking up over how she kept changing her age. I also loved your Halloween candy vid! As a kid, I totally would pawn Mounds and Almond Joys off on my parents and grandparents! I am all about the Butterfingers this year, so I support your husband’s taste! I’m not with you on the Smarties though… C;mon they TOTALLY taste like chalk!! 😀 Have a great weekend!!

    • Katie @ Cup of Tea says:

HAHAHA They DO taste like chalk! But yummy chalk 😉 We always called them “medicine” as a kid. I might even be up for some pop rocks! Have a great weekend!

Such a fun date night! I heard John Cleese’s interview on Fresh Air recently (I think it was a rerun?) and it was fun. And I love that you did a video with Elizabeth!

    • Katie @ Cup of Tea says:

It wasn’t too bad doing a video with her. She saw herself in the screen and that’s all it took to convince her 🙂 HAHA! And it was such an epic show with Cleese and Idle. Truly hilarious! I need to track down the podcast for that interview, because Cleese was hilarious off the cuff. Have a great weekend!

Omg that video was hilarious! Your little girl so stinkin’ cute. I love that she was pretty determined about what she wanted. A little girl who knows what she wants, she was not going to let you tell her what her favorite toy was haha! I think a star is born! Also jealous you got to see the Monty Python guys! So cool! You and your husband do a lot of neat stuff. Great post and thanks for hosting the link up!

She is adorable. Has a similar personality to our Hannah. Definately not camera shy. You looked so pretty Katie. Makeup was done so nicely. Enjoyed watching this. Thank you for the party and for sharing your little angel with us.

  5. Nancy says:

My husband is a Monty Python fan and would probably have enjoyed the show that you saw….me, probably not so much! It must be so amazing to see your new Church being built from the ground up to completion and knowing you helped out. It’s looking great! Have a great weekend!

  6. Whitney says:

What a sweet hubby! I always love hearing about couples who do date night, and that one sounds like so much fun! Hopefully the weather will hold off so your volunteers won’t be delayed. Enjoy your down time this weekend!

Yay that the busiest times are behind you and I’m excited to catch up on your vlogs 🙂 Any date night planned by my hubby is a huge win in my book. Sounds like yours did a great job 🙂
