High Five for Friday #82 | Puppet Shows + Mary Berry

H54F - A weekly link up, hosted by Cup of Tea, Bright on a Budget, Coffee with Caitlin & Della Devoted

Welcome to High Five for Friday – hosted by me, Tif, and Della! Come, read up on what we’ve been up to this week and get to know some amazing bloggers down below!

Today’s featured blogger is Jean Claire from Vogue Happiness! Love her blog spirit! She blogs about all the things in life that makes her happy! You HAVE to check out her easy recipe for a cucumber salad. I’ve been craving this for weeks, and now it’s a sign I must make this. Swing over and say Happy Friday to Jean Claire!

Hello August! (Anyone else pining for Fall yet??) Anyone REALLY excited for the Olympics? I’m hauling out the USA gear for dinner tonight and we plan on staying up a little to watch the opening ceremonies (until we doze off…)

Anyway, this week it was another fun week full of fun memories!

1. My birthday was on Sunday and it was a nice, quiet, chill day. I love OTHER people’s birthdays, but don’t really care about celebrating mine. Must be a summer birthday thing. But we went out to eat, I made my husband run to Costco for a birthday berry pie (their berry pie is so yummy!) and I watched The Great British Bake Off. I’m obsessed! Anyone else watching it? And can I be friends with Mary Berry? (Or at least get invited over for tea and dessert?)

LOVE The Great British Baking Show

2. So I got over my cold, but then Elizabeth and William both picked it up. Mercy. They both seemed to be better yesterday, so fingers crossed it’s over.

3. I finally had a moment to snap some 2 month pictures of William. They were all so adorable! Thank goodness for the rapid picture taking mode, though! I got up an update on the blog this week, so check it out!

William is 2 months old!

4. Anyone else enjoying the new Instagram Stories thingy? Even though I JUST started using SnapChat (and understanding it) I really like having all the social media features in one app. And plus, I was thinking Instagram was getting too upidty. Everyone was obsessed with only posting “pretty” pictures… but I always thought of it as a fun behind-the-scenes platform. Now I’ve got the best of both worlds! (You can follow me on IG @ktcupoftea). I did put up on SnapChat some videos of Elizabeth doing my makeup. It was hilarious! It needs to be a formal video. She basically told me she was making me look like a raccoon… which was accurate.

5. Yesterday we had a fun morning! Our local library hosted a puppet show and it was a hoot. It was at the downtown library branch, which we hadn’t been to before, and it was nice to check it out before going to the puppet show. Elizabeth had a great time!

A summer puppet show at the local library!

Just a girl, her monkey, and some library puzzles.

What was your highlight from the week? Can’t wait to hear about it!

I was so glad our library had this. Don’t know if these kinds of programs are part of the regular thing, but it was fun! Hope you’re having a great weekend!

Happy belated birthday!! Figuring out birthday plans is a pain, so a low-key celebration sounds great! And I keep forgetting that the Olympics start tonight! I should be fully on board with that in no time, haha. Have a great weekend!

    • Katie @ Cup of Tea says:

HAHA hope you got on board last night with Olympics stuff 🙂 And yes, if you asked me what my preferred birthday plan was, it would be sitting in a dark room, all alone, with Netflix. Sounds delightful and easy! 🙂 Hope you’re having a great weekend!

  2. Jillian says:

I am SO excited for the Olympics!!! We have some family coming over tonight for a watch party, and I can’t wait to fill up on junk food while watching all the incredibly fit athletes. Lol! Happy Birthday, I hope you had a wonderful day!

I love the Great British Bake Off! I would love to be friends with Mary Berry too! I guess I will be the odd one out and say I’m not really into the Olympics this year. I’m definitely planning on watching the opening ceremonies, but besides that, I’m not sure if I’ll watch much more. I always like watching the gymnastics (my cousin is a gymnast and I hope to see her in the Olympics someday!). Hope you have a great weekend and happy belated birthday!

    • Katie @ Cup of Tea says:

In years past it was hard to get into the Olympics because we didn’t have a reliable way to watch it. This year we *cough* have sneaky access to cable. So we can watch it. But yes, in years past there was barely any excitement over the Olympics. Hope you’re having a great weekend!

  4. Mariah says:

I honestly could not care less about the Olympics, haha. That probably makes me a terrible US Citizen. Maybe I’ll tune into the opening ceremonies tonight. I still need to catch up on The Great British Bake Off but I’m rewatching the season on Netflix as I type this 😉 Mary Berry is like everyone’s dream granny. Hope your birthday was wonderful! Happy weekend!

That Netflix season was the best of the best. Truly my favorite one! And yes, Mary Berry is the dream granny. Perfect description!!

Happy belated birthday! I like birthday pie instead of cake, as well! I usually have cherry. I hope you had a great weekend!
