Today’s featured blogger is Danielle from A Sparkle of Joy! She’s a wife and mother and loves blogging about her family and all things home. I read her post about feeling not good enough, and it was exactly what I needed to read right now. Her family is also ticking so many things off their summer bucket list! Swing over to say hi and meet Danielle!

Can you believe July is almost done??

1. I’ve been sick all week… so I’m hoping to be 100% better after this weekend. Being sick really makes getting up for 5am boot camp workouts challenging. I prioritized sleep over exercise for sure. Now I’m just hoping the kiddos don’t catch anything. That’s worse than Mom actually getting sick.

2. Our weeks this summer are filled with glorious play dates! Play dates are perfect because the kids run around and play and the mommies get to chat! We went to this fun music based indoor play space on Wednesday and Elizabeth played HARD for 2 hours. Nap time that day was wonderful!

3. William is now officially 2 months old! He’s smiling up a storm, which is so adorable. Unfortunately those smiles aren’t really replicated when it’s time to take official 2 month pictures! HAHA! I’ve tried twice now to take his picture and his tears start flowing. Oh well.

4. I’m excited for a chill weekend at home. These weeks just fly by, so I love when the weekend rolls around and we can just savor the quiet and family fun.

5. Finally I’m helping my fellow H54F co-host and blogging friend Della celebrate her 2 year blogiversary! Hooray! She has a really awesome giveaway right now – a $40 Target Gift Card!!! I can always think of a way to quickly spend $40 at Target. HA!

Menu Monday | New Recipes To Try #6

The best Pinterest recipes that you have to try!
It’s the last Monday of the month! That means I’m teaming up with Come Home for ComfortPolka-Dotty Place and Wife Mommy Me to share our favorite Pinterest recipes that you HAVE to try!

The first recipe comes from me! I was recently reminded of my old favorite Tomato Pesto. It’s really easy to whip up and is a versatile pesto. And if you are getting tired of the same old pesto, try this one for a change!

This Southwest Alfredo Pasta is super delicious! I really didn’t think it would turn out that great, but it was really tasty! I threw in some of our favorite Trader Joe’s veggie chicken strips for a protein. Easy!

I really love whipping up a bath of these restaurant-style black beans when we’re having Mexican food. A really easy recipe to jazz up your basic can of black beans.

What are some amazing recipes you’ve tried lately? Are you guilty of the Pinterest board that goes neglected like me?

Check out Come Home for Comfort, Wife Mommy Me and Polka-Dotty Place for their recommended recipes from this month!

We’ve also created a Pinterest board where we’ll be pinning all of our tested and approved recipes we find! Head on over and follow for more ideas!

High Five for Friday #80 | White House Cookies and LuLaRoe

H54F - A weekly link up, hosted by Cup of Tea, Bright on a Budget, Coffee with Caitlin & Della Devoted

Welcome to High Five for Friday – hosted by me, Tif, and Della! Come, read up on what we’ve been up to this week and get to know some amazing bloggers down below!

Heather from My Glittery Heart

Today’s featured blogger is Heather from My Glittery Heart! She shares family adventures and her amazing home DIYs, like this adorable shiplap backpack area. LOVE IT!!! She is also co-hosting a fun Recipe Club link up once a month, where it’s a chance to showcase all the fun recipes you have going on! Swing on over and say hello!

This week was just a marathon race the whole time. Definitely taking it a little slower today.

1. We had a wonderful, chill weekend. It was full of the usual stuff, but for some reason it felt wonderful and relaxed. Maybe it was because we went out to our favorite diner for breakfast?

2. The workouts continue! It is clear that my arms are the weakest link here. They are so wimpy that they’re preventing me from doing some exercises because they just can’t handle it. Wednesday there were a series of arm workouts and woah. My arms. Hurt. Yesterday I was trying to slice bread and I seriously struggled because my arms hurt so much. But I’m still really enjoying the workouts! 5am is hard, but truly the hardest part is getting up to go.

3. I joined SnapChat! At first I couldn’t understand all the little icons. But now I love it! It’s definitely going to be the place to house my random musings. Like yesterday, where I talked about being scared to roll down my window at Starbucks because of the massive dragonfly buzzing around my window. You know… the usual things you talk about on SnapChat. You can find me @ktcupoftea!

4. Anyone else addicted to watching the RNC this week? I’m such a politics junkie and election years are my fav. This convention didn’t disappoint in things to talk about. I do worry though I’ll be moderately mopey come November so I picked up this fun cookie kit from Trader Joe’s. We’ll be making this on election night!

5. There were 2 parties to host this week. Tuesday was my husband’s work group at our home for dinner. The kids played really well together! So well that I barely saw them all night. Win! And then last night I co-hosted a LuLaRoe party with a sweet friend. This was a selfish party – I could have cared less if people came (although glad they did!), I just wanted to try stuff on. We had a BLAST preparing all kinds of food and drinks for this. Clearly we don’t get out much as moms.

A LuLaRoe Party

I did buy quite a bit. Basically one of everything there. I bought a classic and perfect tee, Amelia and Nicole dresses, and a Cassie skirt. Plus an Ana dress, but in a different color that wasn’t there last night. No leggings. I’m… just not a patterned legging girl. They were comfy though! But I was really shocked at how nice the quality was, and everything just fit like a glove!

The consultant that helped us last night has a FB page with her inventory on it, so if you’re interested in what she has, take a peek! She’ll ship to you!

16 Instagram Boutique Shops You Need to Follow

Instagram is easily my favorite social media platform! I’m not posting amazing, stylized pics, but I do appreciate the people and brands that do. It makes my IG feed look so fancy! Recently I’ve discovered so many awesome, small Instagram boutique shops that I think you should follow. My favorites range from clothes and accessories to amazing gifts!

Instagram boutique shops

This isn’t a sponsored post or a post with affiliate links. I just REALLY love discovering unique, small brands!

Home + Gifts + Accessories

Ink & Bobbin | This is on my “must purchase soon” wishlist. These sisters do amazing custom watercolors of your home or family! I’m dreaming of a picture of our home to hang, and one of the kids. How sweet would that be?

Swallows Grace | Ever wanted a mug that says “Joanna Gaines is my spirit animal”? This girl has you covered.

Le Papier Studios | The most adorable custom silhouette pieces, including prints and jewelry!

Hello Love Handmade | This IG account showcases small shop artists who hand make a variety of items. It’s an IG account full of treasures.

French Press Mornings | LOVE all of her Bible verse printables. The graphics she creates are beautiful.

Purple Peridot | I know so many of you know about this brand, but seriously some of the best prices around on current jewelry pieces!

Apparel

HoneyBee Boutique | Erica has a great collection of apparel for moms that just speaks to my soul. My current favorite tee in her collection says “One day at a time Sweet Jesus”. Loved it so much I bought it!

Mindy Mae’s Market | Such a fantastic collection of clothing. Most pieces are casual, easy to wear and full of not-boring basics. I try so hard to not buy every item that’s featured.

Goodnight Macaroon | I’ve bought a few items from Goodnight Macaroon and have loved them! Wait for items to go into the flash sale before buying.

For Baby

Smocked Auctions | This children’s clothing IG feed is the one I watch closely. They sell adorable smocked, embroidered outfits for babies, boys and girls. I’ve bought several things for Elizabeth through this feed, and plan on stocking up on some coordinated Christmas outfits when they come out!

LilyJade – if you haven’t seen these beautiful leather diaper bags, look them up! I first discovered the brand on IG and have been oogling the bags since.

The Vintage Honey Shop – a shop that sells sweet fabric-covered teething necklaces and toys.

YumBox – I can’t remember if I technically discovered YumBox on IG, but I follow the feed JUST to see great lunch ideas for toddler bento boxes!

Smockingbird Clothing – Smocking? Check. Monograms? Check. Anything you could want in baby clothes? Check.

Pixie Lily Baby – Another sweet shop full of delicate children’s clothing.

Beaufort Bonnet Company – Do you want a bonnet or monogrammed diaper cover? Look here! Seriously wishing I didn’t order Elizabeth an adorable bonnet!!

Any small Instagram boutique shops you love and follow? Let me know! Can’t wait to follow a few more!

High Five for Friday #79 | My Thumbs Hurt

H54F - A weekly link up, hosted by Cup of Tea, Bright on a Budget, Coffee with Caitlin & Della Devoted

Welcome to High Five for Friday – hosted by me, Tif, and Della! If you want to know more, read about it here!

This week’s featured blogger is Emily from A Little Bit of Emily! I love the blogging style she uses – it feels like you’re just chatting with a friend about everyday life! She recently shared her July Goals, and if you want a tasty treat to make this weekend, check out this awesome recipe for her mom’s Homemade Chex Mix snack. Swing over and give a hearty H54F Hello!

This week was a much better week than last week. Shoot! I even got an extra blog post out! Win.

1. One thing that keeps us super busy each week is play dates! It’s a Mommy’s survival. We had one Monday and Wednesday. And then Elizabeth has school again on Tuesday and Thursday. So you can imagine, today, we’re just excited to be home and not needing to rush out the door ASAP. HA!

2. I’ve been noticing William is starting to leave the newborn phase and is starting to become a baby. He’ll be 2 months old next week and we’re just one month away from the 4th Trimester being over. He’s awake more often and smiling. He loves laying on his play mat every evening. He is also sleeping longer at night (hooray!). Not to mention his hair is growing. And it makes me smile 🙂

3. So my thumb joints are SUPER sore! Why? This week I started going to exercise classes. I don’t know WHY I signed up for this, but I signed up for boot camp-style classes. Why? Who knows… I’m more of a low-sweat girl. But I’m actually surprised I like them! This particular franchise is women only, and there are so many different women in this class of all ages, fitness levels, and stamina. So as a girl who is 7 weeks post partum, I don’t feel like the odd duck there. I feel comfortable to go at my own pace, but still feeling motivated to “compete” with the person next to me. I go to the 5am class, which I realize sound crazy, but there is nothing better than coming back home, after working out, and your family, kids included, is still upstairs asleep. Bliss! I went Wednesday for the first time and then again this morning. I was SORE Thursday, understandably. But I think my thumbs are sore because of all the floor exercises. They just aren’t used to that level of exertion.

4. On a blog note, I’ve realized it’s really hard to find quiet time to sit down and film, let alone time to edit. So I’ve been thinking about once a week jumping on FB Live to just chat, OR even using…. SnapChat. FB Live seems more my style (you know I can talk) but I need to think about some loose topics, or else it will quickly get boring. Anything you want me to chat about?

5. 9 years ago today my husband and I were married! We got married in Columbus (technically Worthington) Ohio, in the same church I grew up in. It was one of the most laid back weddings ever, even though it was a fairly large, formal wedding. Nothing really went wrong (except that an aunt got left behind at the hotel and had to take a cab to the wedding) and we had a great time! We aren’t planning on any big celebrations, but we do have a baby sitter tonight and we’re headed out to eat! Hooray!

What was your highlight from the week? Can’t wait to hear about it!
