Hey Hey! It’s Friday!

Friday Friday Friday!!  Love it.  This week has been a great one, but phew! I’m tired.  I don’t know why…

I’m clearly getting old.

1. Little Elizabeth turned 10 months old on Monday, and the villagers rejoiced!  She’s exploded so much with her new skills, it’s just been a hoot to watch!

2. The husband actually ASKED if I was interested in going out to eat…….. SHOCKED!!!!!! That never happens.  Normally I’m the one that asks, but he surprised me.  We went to Pompieri Pizza here in Durham.  Yum!  Hubs got the  BC Pie, which is a yummy mushroom based pizza.  Then I got a pizza of the day with roasted garlic, tomato chutney, and caramelized onions.  Delicious!

3. We are starting to turn our front room into a play room (blog post coming!).  So on Wednesday, Elizabeth and I took a trip down to Ikea in Charlotte.  It was quite the adventure 🙂  But we got quite a few fun items, including a tunnel!  Elizabeth loves it!!!

4. I’m almost done with my Garnier Volume Extend Dry Shampoo. I love it! I wash my hair at night, so by morning, when it’s time to style it, it needs a little extra oomph. This is lightweight, not sticky or gritty, and gives me great volume.  (Oh, a sneaky peak from the Old Navy bag in the corner!)

5. Yesterday I got together with my girlfriends and their little ones at a local park for a picnic and time at the splash ground. This place was amazing! We had such a good time. And my little girl, who still doesn’t really like baths, so enjoyed herself! Great times with babies giggling and good friends catching up. It was a great afternoon!

Picture an Hour | A Day in the Life

I saw this neat blog post idea over at Along Abbey Road for taking a picture every hour (although her pictures are much more beautiful!).

So I thought that would be fun! If you follow me on Instagram, then you’ve seen all of these.

This was fun! I love watching daily vlogs on YouTube, and pictures are a like a soft, easy version 🙂

5:30am | Already up and blogging (oh, AND watching Real Housewives of NJ).

6:30am | It’s a “2 cups of coffee” kind of day!

7:30am | Already had breakfast, and now getting ready because Elizabeth and I are heading out for a road trip!

8:30am | Stopped at Starbucks for my skinny latte, extra hot, for the road trip.

9:30am | Pit stop, only one hour in.  Pit stop solo with a baby is a new experience!

10:30am | Made it to IKEA!

12:30pm | Skipped an hour, but we were eating, then shopping.

1:30pm | Grabbing some gas before hitting the road again.

3:30pm | Exploring all of our buys for the new play room!

4:30pm | We bought a tunnel!  Elizabeth immediately scampered through it.  I couldn’t stop laughing!

5:30pm | In the process of making dinner – Summer Vegetables with Red Curry, from the Fields of Greens cookbook.

6:30pm | Baby in bed, asleep. So Hubby and I grabbed some curry at curled up to watch The Killing on Netflix.

7:30pm | Um… yeah. The episode ending with a crazy cliff hanger.  So we needed to watch the next episode.  So a cup of tea for me!

8:30pm | Bed time! I’m basically an old lady….

Elizabeth’s 10 Month Update

20140812-094534-35134105.jpg

Well, I’m just shocked.  How did we get to 10 months already?  I’m already envisioning her as a 6 year old, tearing around the house.

Let’s briefly discuss taking Elizabeth’s 10 Month pictures.  Normally, she’s a little poser.  But this time, all she wanted to do was nosedive off the chair!  I managed to get a few pictures that were sweet.

20140812-094534-35134773.jpg

But it was mostly tears.  Even trying to take selfies where she can see herself didn’t work to cheer her up.

Elizabeth's 10 Month Update | Cup of Tea

Oh well.  On to her little recap!

Height/Weight | At her most recent doctor’s appointment, she’s 17 lbs and 27 inches. She’s following her little growth curve perfectly!

Routine | Elizabeth’s routine surprisingly held on during our 2 weeks in Michigan!

  • 7:00am – Wake up and bottle
  • 7:30am – Play time!
  • 8:00am – Breakfast time
  • 8:30am – Continue to play or Bath time
  • 9:00am – Morning nap
  • 10:00am – Wake up and bottle
  • 10:30am – Play time! Or errands.
  • 11:30am – Lunch time
  • 12:oopm – Play time!
  • 1:00pm – Afternoon nap
  • 2:30-3:00pm – Wake up and bottle
  • 3:30pm – Small snack
  • 4:00pm – She plays while I start dinner
  • 4:30pm – Dinner as a family
  • 5:00pm – Play time!
  • 6:00pm – Get ready for bed, and a final bottle.
  • 6:30pm – Lights out and asleep!

Sleeping | Still sleeping amazing *knock on wood* with a full 12 hours at night, plus two naps.

Eating | She’s drinking about 16 oz of formula via bottle each day (4 4oz bottles).  Meal times have become important now.  Before, she’d just play with her food and nibble a little, but now she’s eating all of her meals.  Her favorite foods are black beans, eggs, avocado, blueberries and corn on the cob.

Sizes | She still is getting use of a few remaining 6 month dresses.  But she’s mainly wearing 9 month onesies and dresses and 12 month PJs and pants.  I also have a feeling we’re on our last box of size 3 diapers before needing to go up a size.

Milestones | I’m exhausted from this last month and all the changes!

  • Elizabeth got much faster at crawling, thanks to chasing after my parents’ dog.  Poor guy….
  • She pulls up to stand on everything now.  Everything.  My coffee table decor is no longer safe.
  • Her new favorite way to smile is squishing up her eyes and nose.  Adorable!
  • Elizabeth loves to explore!
  • She loves to follow me around while doing chores!  I love hearing her little hands slapping the floor as she crawls after me!
  • I’m confident Elizabeth has started singing!  She’s also perfecting her dance moves!
  • She dipped her toes in the Atlantic Ocean for the first time!  And she cried.  But that’s ok – I cried too apparently with my first toe dip at about the same age.
  • Elizabeth had her first flight up to Michigan and did so well!
  • She became best friends with a dog.
  • She started cruising furniture a little bit, and she also likes to walk if you hold her hands.
  • I’ve had to rearrange a few lower kitchen cabinets because she rummages 🙂
  • We’ve finally got a tooth!  She has one bottom tooth so far, and looks like there are more to come.  Thankfully, the teething doesn’t seem to bother her.
  • She gabs a lot!  And she definitely says “Dada” in reference to Daddy!  But she also just says “dadada” when she’s happy and “mamamama” when she’s in distress.  Sigh….
  • Elizabeth LOVES books!

Here are some of my favorite pictures from over the last month!  The picture at top left is when she pulled to stand in her crib just a few days ago!  She was pretty proud 🙂

Hey Hey! It’s Friday!

TGIF! This was one of those weeks where I had NO idea what day it actually was.  I kept asking my husband “wait, is today Tuesday or Thursday?”.  I was so off every day.  But hey! It’s Friday now!  And today I’m headed with a friend to a new home decor store that opened up here in Durham – At Home.  Do you have one in your town???  Apparently, it’s like Home Goods, but bigger.  Bigger!?  Amazing!

Here’s what I was up to this week:

1. I’m getting back on track in the blogging groove.  And it felt goooooooood!

2. Speaking of blogging grove, hey!  Guess what??  My blog’s FB page cruised over 100 likes this week!  A small number, but a number I certainly am grateful for! *cue happy dance

3. Elizabeth has had quite the week.  She’s started cutting her first tooth.  I just noticed a little white line on her gum line, and then the husband got bit by a little shark tooth.  And we’ve had to start baby-proofing. Because she started rummaging in a kitchen cabinet.  It has begun.

4.  I went to the Dollar Tree for the first time in my adult life.  I kept hearing that it was fun to snag bins, baskets, etc.  I scored some fun storage and baby related items, and recorded a quick haul. I wish I could live my life in haul videos.

5. Progress has begun on converting our front room in to a play room!  The rug arrived yesterday, and then next week I’m planning an Ikea trip.  And we put up a gate, which took me about 30 minutes to figure out how to open it.  And it only took me 30 minutes because I just gave up and looked up a video on YouTube.

Anyway, that was my week!

In case you got out of the habit stopping by this week, here’s what you missed this week!
