High Five for Friday #66 | Meeting Blogging Friends + A Half Birthday!

H54F - A weekly link up, hosted by Cup of Tea, Bright on a Budget, Coffee with Caitlin & Della Devoted

Welcome to High Five for Friday – hosted by me, Tif, and Della! If you want to know more, read about it here!

This week’s featured blogger is Stefanie from Lexie Loo, Lily, Liam & Dylan Too! She’s a Pittsburgh mom of 4 who has such a fun, sweet blog! LOVE that today she mentioned she’s a mug fan! Woohoo! And her recipe for paprika chicken and dumplings sounds really yummy! Swing over and say hello!!

It was quite the week for us! (Oh and Happy Tax Day!)

Meeting blogging friends in real life!

1. On Saturday I drove down to Charlotte for the Influence Conference and it was a delightful time! Any mom would probably understand when I say I wasn’t sure what was more fun – the conference or the 4 total quiet hours in the car, just me. HA! The conference was amazing, but the best part? Meeting blogging friends in real life! I hung out with Whitney all day, and honestly, it’s like we’ve known each other for years already! We also sat (randomly!) right behind Keri! There was also a blogging celebrity sighting – Kate from The Small Things Blog! We didn’t chat with her BUT she was spotted, although I was working through my conversation “In” in the middle of the conference, just in case. But Whitney and I had so many giggles we decided this needed to be replicated regularly.

2. While I was gone on Saturday, Elizabeth spent a fun day with Daddy! They truly had a blast!! But it was weird spending an entire day away from her. When I realized I wouldn’t make it back in time to see her before bed, I just called to talk on the phone. It was SO STRANGE talking to her on the phone! HAHA But she loved it, and told me all her adventures from the day. So sweet! Mommy had to make up for it on Sunday. One fun thing? We mixed up some brownies! Is there anything else better than licking a spatula covered in brownie batter? Nope!

Elizabeth turns 2.5!

3. Those brownies came in handy for Elizabeth’s 2.5 birthday on Monday! My husband grew up celebrating half birthdays, so we’ve been doing the same. Nothing extravagant! Just a fun dinner/dessert, a few balloons, and a small gift. BUT such a delight for a 2.5 year old! She even got to choose her fancy dress that day. She was SUPER fancy for our Bible Study that morning. I’ve been trying to enjoy some “Just Elizabeth” time before baby brother shows up. And with another milestone passed, I figure it’s time for another “Meet Elizabeth” video soon.

Pregnant at 32 Weeks

4. Speaking of new baby, I’m down to the last 6 weeks! I’m happy but apprehensive, all at the same time. I’ve also decided I’m not allowed to complain that I’m tired right now, because I’m sure in a few months, I’ll be giggling that silly April Katie didn’t know what tired was… but… I’m tired. When I was pregnant with Elizabeth, at this time, I was full of energy and definitely nesting. I was cleaning/organizing like a mad woman. This time? I can barely keep my eyes open! But we’re on the home stretch.

5. Anyone else just get to the end of the week and wonder where the week went? That’s definitely me right now… These weeks are just blitzing by. And I feel like we have something going on every single weekend from now until the baby gets here. YIKES! But Hubby and I are taking time for a date night tonight AND squeezing in some more between now and the end of May. So excited for that!

What were you up to this week? Let me know!

Only 6! I’m trying not to wish them away because that means our lives will be SO different from what we know… BUT it is exciting 🙂 Happy Weekend!

It was a great, inspirational conference! But yes, the bonus was seeing friends in real life 🙂 And I can’t WAIT for these last weeks to be over. (I shouldn’t wish this last few weeks away… but mercy!)

I am SO happy it’s Friday. This week has dragggggged on for me.

Isn’t it funny to be away from your kids and talk to them on the phone/get picture messages? My husband and daughter seem to have so much fun together.

    • Katie @ Cup of Tea says:

It was a hoot talking to her! I should do that more often, just for kicks. And dads and daughters have such a special bond, don’t they?

  2. Jess says:

That’s so fun that you got to hang out with Whitney IRL!! It looks like you guys even coordinated your outfits, haha! Elizabeth is sooo cute! I grew up having to celebrate my half-birthday at school (summer birthdays ftw!), so I know that feel! She looks like she’s never been more excited in her life, but really, what IS more exciting than a huge plate of brownies and a fancy dress?! 🙂 I can’t believe you only have six weeks to go, that pregnancy just flew by (for those of us not, you know, with child! ha!)! Hope you guys have a great weekend!!

    • Katie @ Cup of Tea says:

It DID look like we coordinated outfits, right?? SO funny! I swear, we didn’t. Elizabeth is all about birthdays these days. With so many kids in our friend circle, it seems like there is a birthday party every few weeks! So she was super excited that there was one for her HAHA! And this pregnancy did fly by! But now it seems like it’s a crawl… but I shouldn’t wish it away just yet, I guess 🙂

  3. Misty says:

I think that’s awesome that you celebrate half birthdays! My kids are 11 and 4. Is it too late to start now 🙂 Hang in there and enjoy the home stretch of your pregnancy. You look amazing!

    • Katie @ Cup of Tea says:

Never too late! I didn’t do it growing up myself, but my husband did, so why not? HAHA! And thank you – I’m trying to enjoy it and not wish it away too fast.

  4. Nancy says:

Wow, haven’t seen a pic of your pregnant belly! You look great and can’t believe you only have six more weeks! That blogging conference sounds like fun…..I’ve never been to one and it sounds like so much fun meeting fellow bloggers. Have a great weekend!

    • Katie @ Cup of Tea says:

HAHA I know. I didn’t really take pregnancy pics with Elizabeth either… not because I didn’t want to, but I just never got into it. So funny! And the conference was tons of fun – seeing friends in real life was an AMAZING bonus!!

  5. Whitney Jordan says:

Glad you had such a fun time at the conference!! I would have loved to hang out with you two 🙂 It sounds like Elizabeth had a great day with her daddy and isn’t it crazy when your kids are big enough to talk to you on the phone all of the sudden?!?! Glad you’re enjoying these last few weeks of just Elizabeth. I was so emotional about it all and I think pregnancy with a toddler is extra exhausting. So squeeze in some naps and head to bed early while you still get to control your schedule 🙂

    • Katie @ Cup of Tea says:

It would have been fun if you were there too!!! We just need to meet in the middle next time 🙂 It was so strange to talk on the phone with Elizabeth but I had a HUGE smile on my face after. It needs to happen more often! I’m totally starting to get emotional with Elizabeth not being an only child soon. I’m starting to think of fun memories we can make in the last few weeks… Sniff!

    • Katie @ Cup of Tea says:

The conference was fun!!! And yes, resting while I can… but I find it hard to sit still too! Pregnancy problems 🙂

  6. Emily says:

I want to go to a blogging conference so bad! Elizabeth’s brownie face is too cute! My youngest kids are two years apart and I definitely think that last six weeks was more exhausting than when the baby actually arrived. I remember my “stomach skin” just aching. The good news…there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. You are almost there!! Have a great (and restful weekend)!

    • Katie @ Cup of Tea says:

YES!!! My stomach just aches… I don’t remember this with Elizabeth. And I’m SO tired right now! I’m basically asleep when I’m walking around right now. Sigh… But I’m reminding myself that I’ll be tired too in 6 weeks so enjoy THIS kind of tired.

  7. Whitney says:

Last Saturday was SO much fun! I’m so glad we got to hang out and I can’t wait to do it again! 🙂 Elizabeth looks precious in that fancy dress – wide open mouth and all. LOL! Can’t wait for another video with her as the star. Hang in there and I hope you get some extra sleep this weekend!

    • Katie @ Cup of Tea says:

We DO need to do that again quickly! And an Elizabeth video just needs to happen… if nothing else just to remember what she was like at 2.5 🙂

  8. Nicole says:

How fun that you were able to meet another blogger! I would love to, but I don’t think anyone lives in my neck of the woods!
Those pictures of Elizabeth are SO cute! Looks like she sure enjoyed the brownies! And another Elizabeth video would be cute!
And 6 weeks left? How exciting! Hope you had a great weekend!

    • Katie @ Cup of Tea says:

See, when we all make enough money as bloggers, we’re just all going to have our own retreat to meet all the H54Fers in real life 🙂 That’s the plan HAHA! But it was a ton of fun!

  9. Ashley says:

You look lovely! I hope your next six weeks go smoothly and that you can get some rest! I am happy to hear that you had so much fun at the conference! Have a great weekend!
